    Hi Ditto X4 Users,

I'm interested in learning any Frippertronics type set ups using The Ditto x4. I was wondering if you can route the output of loop1 to the input of loop 2 for any appreciable regenerative looping?
Also, Can one of the channels be used as a effects send and return? Or an ABy box separating effects chains for each loop channel?

I'm just a 58 year old newbie who just wants to zoom sound-on-sound clouds of self-indulgent Ambient loops and washes. Please point me in the right direction.

      Hi,

Frippertronic-style looping is not possible with the ditto X4 as the 2 Looper tracks cannot be assigned to individual /seperate outputs or routed into each other.

Our new Plethora X5 pedal will get a looper with the forthcoming 1.2 firmware update (scheduled for summer)
and if it supports multiple instances of it in the 5 available Fx slot that kind of workflow will be possible.

What in this regard is very interesting is that you can swap pedals around in the slots, so you could eg record with a Delay and reverb into Looper in slot 3 and then record the output of Looper 1 to a looper 2 in slot 4. Or you could use the Looper in Plethoras send and swap the loper around depending on which FX you want to record with. As said it is not available nor is feature set finalised, so check back in august and we will know more.

      Best regards,

      Mike

    Hi!

I recently sold my Hypergravity and Flashback mini pedals to replace them with a new Plethora X5. On my laptop I have created custom Toneprints for them, and since both the Hypergravity and the Flashback are supported in the Plethora I assumed I could simply load my existing Toneprints. However, that does not seem to be possible, as all options to transfer them onto the Plethora are disabled.

To make matters worse, it seems that I can't even view/edit the settings of these Toneprints without the original pedals connected, which means I can't recreate them as new Plethora-enabled Toneprints. I don't have access to the pedals anymore, is there any other option for me to recover these Toneprints?

Does anyone hear a difference between toneprints download to an amp and those downloaded to a pedal?

To be specific - I've had the Jaco Years toneprint on the amp for a while, last night put it in the pedal as well so I can take it with me. However, the two seem different. Same ballpark, but the amp toneprint has a 'glassiness' to it, like it has a layer of chorus in the mix, whereas the pedal is much dryer. Took the pedal out of the chain, so it was just on its own, but wasn't any different. None of the knob parameters seem to cover the part of the sound that is missing. I suppose my quesiton is should they be exactly the same?

Would help if I could get the original artists toneprint spec for the editor, so I can see what's going on. But assume there are IP issues there??

Shaker Pedal and BG250 208 amp.

Do you turn the toneprint knob on the amp to 10, i.e. fully wet, or do you use just a mix of the effect?

Chorus is basically a mix of vibrato + dry sound, and since you don't have a blend control in the pedal, it's always on full wet (kill dry). On the amp, the toneprint knob acts as a blend control, so at anything below 10 it's going to be letting some dry signal through, i.e. it's going to create the chorus effect you're describing.

Hi all  wondered if you could help?

I just got a ditto x4 and I noticed it can midi sync with an extremal clock

I don't use a clock.. I just use tap tempo on my g-major to make my delays in time with my drummer

Is it possible for the ditto to use my g-major tap as it's clock? I.e. So whatever tap tempo my g-major is using, sends to the ditto?

    Thanks

The Ditto X4 needs a Midi clock signal and the Tap tempo of the G-AMjor works just for the internal tempo based effects, but cannot send out the value as Midi clock.

      Cheers,

I cannot make my Polytune 3 go into always-on mode. I've updated the firmware to 1.4 but that didn't affect anything. The dip switches will change between TB and BB modes, but there is no time the tuner will ever work in always-on buffered mode.

      Hi,

can you confirm that both dip switches are in the right position ? Always-on mode works only in buffered bypass.

@TC-Mike , I appreciate the confirmation of DIP switch positions on your part, but if this is a fault of the product, then it's time—more than a week after my initial request for help—to make the repair or replacement of the tuner official. This pedal isn't getting any more functional as it sits here, waiting for TC to take notice beyond issuing an 'RTFM' to somebody who knows better.

      Hi guys,

Could you please let me know the serialnumbers of your units?

The dip switch works fine on all units, i tried and i use one in always on mode daily in my studio, so this must be a hardware issue.

could you guys try different toggle switch combination, so see if always on mode works in a different toggle switch combination? this way we get a hint  if the dip switches might hav been soldered in reverse by accident
      and get a better picture

Please get in any case in touch with our tech support regarding this. they'll advice you and how to proceeed best, so your PolyTune can be serviced or exchanged under warranty.

      hi,

i asked our service manager, if we have ever seen a similar isseu before. If not it would be great if we could get our hands on one of your pedals for investigation and have it sent to the TC HQ . Our CARE teams will advice you on how to proceed best. Let me know if you need further assistance.

      with best regards,

      Hi Mike,

No DIP switch config allows for always-on mode, although I can easily toggle between TB and BB modes. In all four configurations, the pedal turns off with the footswitch. My serial is: S190300831CM0

For using the Sub n' Up with a bass, is it possible to create a Toneprint that sets an input EQ range to be processed? I want to set an octave down, but have the effect cut off at a certain low frequency (ie; set it so that if I play Bb on the A string, I will get an octave below, but if I play an open A, the input frequency will be too low to be processed, and I won't get an octave below.) As some of you know, there is a point where bass octaves start to become too "muddy" to be usable in a mix. Thanks!

      Hi,

the seperation of the filter bands is not high enough to use this as frequency depending/ selective input shaper. and it is more to color the dry portion of the signal rather than a band splitter . i tried this a couple of time so that i could play a solo on the high string without any prcessing while only the upper strings should have an octave up.
      But it is not working.

The idea of a dedicated multti-band processing tool is very interesting though, also in regards to possible being able to assing differen tFX to individual strings..

      Best regards,

      Mike

Is there an estimated release date for the Plethora in the United States? I pre-ordered from a shop on Reverb and was originally told that it would ship on or around May 1 but a month later I'm still waiting.

I received mine from Sweetwater around a week ago. I pre-ordered in March. From what I heard there were fewer delivered than expected. I'm not sure about other retailers.

hi, i tried to get some info , but could not get any specifics. the best option right now is to check directly with the retailers as they will be the first to know.

I have checked several times with the retailer and he has no information. And I'm not sure why you think a retailer would know before TC Electronic themselves would...

If you ever worked in logistics or supply chain, you would completely understand (which I do as my day job). Music-Tribe produces hundreds of product at their manufacturing plant in China. Then it is shipped world-wide using various shipping methods. In normal times, delivery to the various ports can vary by weeks or months, then add days or weeks to the final destination (retailers). But this is NOT normal times. With the shipping industry decimated by the pandemic and port cues backlogged beyond belief, as well as government leaders waging war with Chinese manufacturing, it has created a perfect storm of "who knows when it will actually arrive?". The only one that would know that would be the destination (retailers) when the shipment actually arrives.

Well at the very least, TC should consider partial refunds on pre-orders. Pandemic or not, they've had $500 of my money for two months now and I still have no guarantee of when or if I will receive my product.

I know you can triple-tap footswitch 1 and use foot switch 2 to cycle up through the boards. But is there a way to cycle backward using footswitches?  Moving 3 - 2 - 1?  It would be something I use all the time live. Bending down to flip the mini-toggle is not the best solution during a show. Thanks.

You can triple tap either footswitch 1 or 2 to activate the cycle mode, then tap switch 1 to cycle down, 2 to cycle up

    Hi all,

I just got a TCE M350 dual effect processor and it is lovely.

Only problem I have is the software.

How do I get a serial number for this free downloadable software?

And why can I download it from the TCE website and there is no instruction how to get it working?

    Any ideas?

    thanks,

    William

      Hi Ulrich,,

have you tried updating to latest 4.3.1v ersion of the Toneprint app?

      https://www.tcelectronic.com/Categories/Tcelectronic/Guitar/Apps/TONEPRINT-EDITOR/p/P0CLC/Downloads#googtrans(en|en)

if you still have issue running the latest version on your PC, please get in touch with our Care team via the Support link on top of this page and let them know some more info, so they have a chance to help you:
-computer specs (Model , OS version)
      - an actual error description of what doesn't work! ( does it crash?, any error messages? )
-which Toneprint enabled product(s) are you using with the app?  (does it have latest available firmware?)
-Can you see your Toneprint pedal listed in Windoes device manager when connected via USB? (Device manager/audio, video game controler)
-in case the app opens, check the SETTINGS page anf let them know wether your connected pedal is recognized with its serail number and firmware version display

P.s. Please note that your pedal wonøt be able to conenct to app if you have other audio /Midi applications like  your DAW running , as they might hog the USB midi driver-

      best regards,
      Mike

I am also getting this error. Tried downloading newest version 4_3_01_06 but getting error stating "The version of this files is not compatible with the version of windows you're running..". I am running Windows 7, 32-bit. On your download page there is no option for other versions (32 or 64 bit, W10, W7 etc.) even when ticking "Legacy versions", it doesn't present any more.
