    Hello, I am not very knowledgeable about audio interfaces and I have been having some issues I don’t know how to fix. I wonder if anyone could share some wisdom, I’d be very grateful.

    I have a Behringer UMC404HD, which has served me well for a couple of years.

    I use channels 2, 3 and 4 for synths and samplers. I use channel 1 for vocals, which are recorded via a condenser mic going through an FX processor (which also provides phantom power); I often record the vocals clean and then use one of the outputs of the interface to send back to the FX unit. This can result in channel 1 going through quite a bit of plugging in-and-out of cables and occasionally having a loud signal/feedback going in. I try to be careful but I might have made mistakes (e.g., not switching off phantom before plugging, feedback, etc.).

    A couple of weeks ago, channels 1 and 2 became awfully quiet, anything going through them becomes barely audible. Channels 3 and 4 operate as usual... Is it possible that I have inadvertently damaged the first two channels? Could this be easy to fix or should I resign myself to buying a new interface? Any thoughts welcome!

      Are channels 1/2 very low even when listening through the UMC404HD Phones output with the Mix control turned fully to the left? If so, it does sound as though there may be a hardware fault.


       


      I suggest that you raise a Care ticket for Service Repair explaining your problem. This is done by clicking on Support at the top of the page and then clicking the Create a Care Ticket button. This is only possible if you have completed all the required fields in your profile. Make sure that you fill-in every required field on the Care form.

    I registered my new UMC404HD over a month ago and received an email confirmation that the product was registered. However, I still have not received a code to use waveform. I tried to do another ticket about the issue, but it just shows as another product registration. I may have done something wrong but this is where I am currently. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,

    I have recently bought the UMC22 and I'm concerned about the noise I get, even when there's nothing connected at the input. Please, have a look at the spectrum I got at 100% gain. I guess, that the peak at 50Hz is from my power source (I'm from Europe).

    Is there a way to reduce the noise or is it normal for this low-end products?

      At full gain and with no input connected, hum at -75dB is not unusual. If the hum is at a similar level when the input is terminated or shorted it might suggest that there is a grounding issue with your configuration.

    I had read online and verified with Sweetwater/Behringer this would work with an ipad and with AUM before buying.

    However I can't get it to work worth a crap...

    AUM does "show" Behringer's inputs and outputs, but with AUM's output choice set to Behringer's USB 1&2 the actual output never really get's to Behringer's headphones. (the option to use the ipad's headphones, which is present with other interfaces like the Apogee, disappears and is unavailable in AUM when I plug the Behringer in.

    If I use AUM file player to play a wave file, or a synth, a drum machine etc. with the AUM output "showing" it is going to Behringer USB 1&2, I can't hear that wave file playing on the Behringer from it's phone jack at all.

    I have a guitar into instrument input in Behringer's channel 1 and can hear the dry guitar in the Behringer headphones. BUT if I set Behringer's channel 1 as an input in AUM, and route it through an effect like a delay etcl, and with AUM's output set to Behringer's USB 1&2, you can never hear the effect being applied, just the dry signal.

    The weird thing is, just looking at AUM it "looks like" it is working -when playing the guitar the input signal shows up in the level meter in AUM. The problem seems to be with the output from AUM not "actually" returning to the Behringer for listening even though AUM says it is outputing to Behringer's USB 1&2.

    I can't see anything else to set either on the Behringer unit or in AUM to get this to work right. Anyone have an idea?

    Unlike all my other interfaces, like Apogee and others which work fine in the ipad and AUM I cannot get the Behringer to do anything useful in the ipad at all. I did check with Behringer and Sweetwater and forums online to make sure the unit was class compliant (therefore works with ipads) before obtaining one, but no luck so far.

    Any ideas of how to get this working as advertised would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

      If the product registration was successful, it should show a Care ticket for it when you click on Support at the top of this page. If there is no Care ticket, I would try submitting it again. Registration can fail if there is missing or invalid data in the request form. If there is a ticket and you haven't received a download code after 24 hours, send a PM to @AlexLane including the ticket number.

    Mixer board Main L&R outs (stereo) connected to UMC202HD Line Inputs 1 & 2. Outputs 1 & 2 connected to BoxCast interface for live streaming. Head phones only picking up Left or #1 input. No sound on right side or #2 input. Assumed defective unit, purchases 2nd unit and it does the samething. Head phones work in other applications. Solution or do I have a wrong application?  Also power is from a USB power supply not Computor. We are notrecording.

    Any one help with this knotty problem?

    I have a new pc, spec below. My UMC404HD now glitches then cuts out. I have tried all the diagnostics I can think of but to no avail to include:

    Buffer sizes

    Changed motherboard from H310 to Z390 chipset

    Removed video and wifi cards

    Disabled all onboard audio drivers.

    Removed all drives and replaced with ssd from old machine.

    Tested UMC404HD and USB cable on another pc.

    Example of glitching in link below.

    I've run out of ideas!

    Any ideas?

      Which USB ports have you tried? Audio interfaces usually work better on USB 2.0 ports. I've found that the USB-C ports on recent PC designs seem to support USB 2.0 devices better than USB 3.x ports do.

      I would contact Asus to see if they have any suggestions for driver or BIOS settings that might solve the problem.

      Not exactly. There were audio issues with the AMD Ryzen chipset but that does not apply here. You might check-out this report on audio issues with Windows 10 but it should not affect V1909 although disabling audio enhancements is usually a good idea anyway.

    My um2 worked okay for a while, just out of nowhere I got these horrible cracks and several glitches. My youtube would give me audio error messages and very unpleasant sounds. On top of that I could not install the asio driver, I went on reddit and apparently this is a common issue. I uninstalled the driver and now my interface doesn't even turn on. This is ridiculously frustrating and this interface has caused hours of frustration and messed with my creativity. If I can't fix this I might switch to a focusrite because this is just stupid. Low latency recording should not be an issue at all (I have a super capable pc that runs most things on high settings seamlessly). Now i can't even use my interface to make music let alone anything else. please help, thanks :/

      You should get an email confirming registration. Keep watch on your email spam/junk folder as responses have been missed this way. If there is no response and no ticket shown on the list after two days, I would try again.
