    Hello all,

I am a happy and proud owner of VL3X.  Only lately I am less happy since my Vocal/Guitar foot switch, which is also a Looper switch seems to stop functioning. I own VL3X for three years already. On the second year I've noticed that this foot switch requires somewhat more pressure to respond. And now it's almost impossible to switch to guitar and absolutely impossible to switch to Looper.

I am a computer tech, so I don't foresee big problems to just open the box up and maybe change the faulty switch.  Before going there though, I'd like to know if anybody had that problem and if this spare part is available from the manufacturer. Any other advice/opinion on the matter will be thankfully accepted as well.

    Thank you all!

...It caught on in a flash. (one for you oldies...)

So, These new fangled "Mash" switches. I have a question.(I have never used them,or seen them out in the wilds.)

Could two of them be set-up next to each other in a heel to toe arrangement, and be made to act as a sort of expression pedal. So that the toe one only increments up and the heel only decrements down.? That way, when you took your foot off, it would (in theory) stay at that value, without needing to keep your foot on it.

As I say, I don't really know how they work so i could be suggesting foolishness, But if I've just suggested a new breakthrough in footpedal technology. Then I would like a pony and a toy rocket (red.) as payment. Thanks!

TCH-Rob That could potentially work, although I think the purpose of the mash switch is to act like an expression pedal by itself; generally an expression pedal isn't bipolar like what you're suggesting

One BOSE S1 Pro or two Bose S1 Pros?

    Hello:

Anyone found a solution for the following?

Live rock application, small clubs, local gigs etc.

Love what I can do with effects, harmonies and background settings on the VL3; however the raw signal still sounds slightly off like its digitized, or slightly phased or just artifically too bright going direct from my lead vocal mic onstage (sennheiser e935) into a channel on my board (soundcraft Ui24).  Its not my mic, cables or the board and I have the output mic levels set on the VL3 pretty low @ 18db.

Q:  Is there any way to make this thing sound warmer and more tranparent?

I really dont want to add a tube preamp into the chain or change mics as the sennheiser works best for my voice as a high baritone.  Nothing on craigs corner or even demos by Tom on utube address this; Im trying to start with the natural tone of my voice and not EQ too much in the channel strip to make up for the lack of weight I hear when I use the VL3.  I have noth IEMs and external floor monitors and I still hear the same issues.  HELP!  I would really like to use this unit live.

    T

It's not the vocal "smoothing" parameter is it ? (sorry,i'm away from my machine and can't remember specifically where it is in the menus, or what it's correct name is...)

It's either in the "system" tab or "Vocal".

I found out quite recently that smoothing=0 is actually full on, and not full off as I'd expect.

if it's not that, Could their be phase issues ? your stage moniter out of phase with your in-ears.

or, failing that, it's not that thing that i vaguely remember from a "Graigs corner" Where he talked about where it  sounds weird and phasey to you in headphones, but it's the interaction of your internal hearing and external sound. No one else hears it cos they're not in your head.(or are they ?...wooooooh. ahem.sorry. ) Does it still sound weird if you record it and listen back.?

Smoothing is not really discussed in the manual.... Anyone @ TC that can explain this parameter, what it does and how to make it sound natural vs effected.  i.e. does 0 = FULL OFF or FULL ON? and what does 20%, 50%, 75% etc usually equate to?

Also in the Harmony settings OFF vs Tight vs Natural seem to work best as the notes are either exactly with my lead vocal or pretty close.  Any other tips from users out there?  Anyone ever tried inserting a tube preamp into the vocal chain pre input to the VL3 or post output prior to the mixer?

I am using a VoiceLive3 Extreme with backing tracks. I run my guitar into the guitar in and my mic into the XLR mic/line input. I am running the two XLR outputs to the mixer, guitar is in the R(DRY) channel and vocal the L(MONO) channel.

Occasionally, I use backing tracks to add pads to our live performance. When I do, that signal goes to the mixer through the guitar channel. I want to switch it to the vocal channel or someplace else completely. To be precise, I do not want my guitar and the backing track coming out in the same place. I want to give my sound team control over the volume of the pad since they can hear how loud it is in the house compared to everything else.  How exactly do I do that? If it's in the manual, the reference wasn't obvious to me.

Thanks you in advance for any pointers!

Doesn't using the dedicated guitar left and right outputs mute the guitar from the main outs, leaving the backing track and vocals ?

Hi, I'm having trouble setting up my midi switcher with the VLT2. Its working almost to the ability that i need it to. I want to create the control changes on my midi switcher to mimic the controls on the TC switch 6. So that when I press the Play/rec button it Records/Plays with Overdub on/ then toggles Overdub on and off just like my switch 6. My problem is I'm not sure how to set the control changes to mimic that function. At the moment it only can do Rec/ Play w/ Overdub active /Play and the next button press always stops the loop instead of toggling the overdub function. I really hope there is a way to mimic the tc switch with a midi device since they are basically the same thing. Any help is appreciated
    Thank you
    Lou
