Hey all. Been through the threads similar to this, but not getting any success on the X32, and can't reboot or restore anything.

USB drive doesn't seem to be active; no access lights on thumb drive.

Attached is a pic of the screen I'm getting. Ideas?

Hello Dorian, welcome to the community.

This can usually be fixed by placing a copy of the V3.11 firmware file on its own in the root folder of a USB stick, plugging it into the console and then switching-on the power while pressing and holding the USB button.

Once the console is running again, you can repeat the procedure with the V4.02 firmware file but remove the V3.11 one.

Thanks; tried that before I posted.  The USB stick isn't being accessed at all, it seems.

Anyone know if Midas will ever release some SD type stage boxes?  I have an SD16 and would love to have matching preamps to a DL32 for both my personal rig and church rig.
My SD16 tends to live at the drum kit for live events. Stage rearranging at church has just made things to where an SD box at the new drum kit location would be ideal instead of deploying analog snakes to pull inputs to the kit.

I don't have an answer but would buy 2 DL8's on the spot if they existed or the SD version (DD8?) for very similar reasons.

Have been a little confused at times by Midas variants of the x32 universe. Like why an M32 core and M air boxes but not an M32 rack?  I'd probably have at least 3 DLD16 if they existed.  Probably would have done that instead of picking up a DL32 for my portable rig. So much nicer than having to deal with a stage-side DL32 in rack and analog subsnakes.

The X32 Core do not excist anymore for about 2 years, there is only M32 Core. Also there is no M32 Producer version only a X32 Compact (M32R) variant with scribble strip. Have all to do with the pro versus other markets and what they will buy. Pro users are not common tablet mixers for example.

@Vasco_RomijnActually there is no M32 "Core", it's called an M32C. Also the M32R is the same size as an X32 Producer (a Producer with scribble strips and Midas Pro preamps). The Compact is larger than a Producer or M32R and has no Midas counterpart. Also they made an MR18 which is only tablet. So I tend to agree about the marketing being a bit confusing as to why one product is made and not another. I do agree the focus is mainly the big $ Pro market though. Still IMO they would sell a bunch of M32 Racks if ever made and SD type stageboxes (MD?) with Midas preamps.

I upgraded firmware on my two X32's. Compact works fine.  When I turn my X32 rack on now, I get "FPGA boot failed" and it goes into a loop of trying to power on. It will let me change firmware from a USB, but I get the same message with every version. Any thoughts?

      Hi Bill @Billbass75 ,

Have you tried installing 3.11 the old method (putting the firmware update file in the root of a USB stick, inserting the USB stick into the front slot, pressing and holding the USB button and powering up the X32 Rack)?

I've tried 3.12, 4.0, 4.1 and 4.02. I've tried it with multiple thumb drives as well. It will change the firmware and tell me it was complete, but then it fails at the FPGA boot every time.

      Hey Bill @Billbass75

Try this firmware (3.11) and make sure the update file is the only one in the USB root. The reason I suggest 3.11 is that I had to use it once when I installed a (pre 4.0) beta firmware that failed and this one worked for me.

Hello, I have updated the Copilot app to version 1.1 and I have the issue now that the app is every 5 sec. waiting for receiving data from the Wing console.Sometime the app times out for a few seconds, other times it times out for 10+ seconds. The wifi indicator in the right upper corner is getting red now and then, but not always.
Exact the same configuration with app version 1.0 had no problems....
Can anyone shine a light on this? Or has anyone the same exerience?

Hello Paul, do you have maybe CoPilot 1.0 still somewhere in your stock files? I know you keep almost everything regarding X32 and Wing firmware/software.
My CoPilot 1.1 is useless since it is making contact with the console all the time "Receiving data from Wing"
Since there is no software update since the last time I post this issue, I rather like to go back to version 1.0 since the Copilot app is useless now.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi - Is the Behringer X1204USB Xenyx or Behringer X1202USB Xenyx suitable for internet broadcast? Which is the latest model? Which product can you recommend? Can it monitor the computer output as well? Is there USB C? Thanks. Richard

Hello Richard, welcome to the community.

I believe that the X1202USB is an old product that has been replaced by the Q1202USB. Both Q1202USB and X1204USB could be used for broadcast. The choice could depend on whether you have any use for the inserts and additional two mixbuses (Alt 3/4) on the X1204USB.

Both models have a built-in bidirectional stereo USB interface. They can monitor the USB output from the computer but see the limitations explained in the second post in these notes.

I have had no problems connecting this type of mixer to a PC with USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports using appropriate cables or adapters. I use this cable for direct connection.

Still learning about this device. It has been growing on me bit by bit. Considering several more. Curious if anyone has experimented with stand alone operation using a DL/S32 or DL/S16 which it supposedly can do? I'm about to embark on that journey myself. I'm wondering what that is exactly or rather the extent of it. Does it allow the DP48 to be a mixer of the stagebox inputs, can it direct any outs to the stagebox? I'm surprised there has been little said about this feature. I can see it being fairly powerful tool depending on what exactly it is or isn't capable of.

Looks like a fantastic bit of kit, borrowing from some of the best personal monitor mixers out there.  I don't see it being a mixer replacement in most situations, maybe small gigs with limited needs, but I love that it can send audio back to the aes50 bus for distribution to an IEM transmitter.  In small speaking only gigs I usually want an automixer, so my Rack would be on duty and anything larger these days will get my Wing.

It has a lot of bells and whistles for mixing, 12 groups made from numerous ch options. 3 band parametric, compression, Reverb's, pan etc so it's not out of the conversation. Probably not my first choice either IF it's even possible but I'm curious about what it can do as a stand alone device. I'll give it a go later or early on Monday and get back.

I have setup an S16 and the DP48 for my little test. I did nothing special to the S16, I am just using the most recent firmware, that’s all, It is in the default config. (out 1-8) The DP48 only required me to enable “stand alone” from the setup pages. I used 48k but the option for 44k is also there.  I attached a cable from aes50 A on the S16 to the main aes50 input of the DP48. Much to my surprise, within a few seconds, I got sync on the S16 and the green “IN” on the DP. I was originally thinking I might need to use one of the newer config options or a signal master option but I did not. Easy, no complicated setup involved, about as simple a thing as you could imagine. I then proceeded to connect a CD player for the test using a 1/8 stereo to mono L and mono R xlr cable. I pushed up the gain on the 2 chosen ch’s and got a nice level. On to the DP I hit the assign button-and lo and behold, the 2 ch’s were clearly active! (aes50 in 15/16 in this case) I selected them in the menu, Ch 15 for group 1 and 16 for group 2 and there the music was, available to mix-levels, eq, pan, comp, reverb etc and sounding quite clean and nice. I tried the record option and it did so perfectly! Just to be sure I did not just get lucky here, I changed the inputs around a few times. Same results! There are of course 48 aes50 slots to access in the DP, the S16 only having the 16 mic pre’s, so my test limit was that. I am convinced if you put a DL32 and a DL16 for instance, you would have access to a full 48 inputs! Yes there are only 12 groups from which to apply the 48 ch’s to BUT you can combine some, mix them use some singles etc. I have not yet figured out the output end of this, It does send something back upstream but I'm not sure where or how to do this. I need to look into that more. That said you could just connect powered speakers to the DP itself and have a system from which to mix. Or a simple practice setup with earphones-full recording. Pretty cool I think.

I did that on the S16, selected the input, pushed in gain and set them. I did not plug in a mic but would imagine it would work the same.

EDIT: I used 20.5 for the cd inputs (line out from a little walkman style cd player)

Also worth mentioning that I'm pretty sure the need for gain control on the stagebox is why only the DL/S 32 and 16 will work.

Hello Bo, welcome to the community.

Is the mixer an X1204USB? Try this:

Set the orange FX control on the mic channel to (12 o'clock).

Set the orange Aux Sends 2 FX control to 0.

Set the orange Stereo Aux Returns 2 FX control to 0.

Make sure that the grey Main Mix/Alt 3-4 button above the LED meter is not pressed.

Make sure none of the grey Solo buttons on the mixer are pressed.

Just purchased a Q802USB mixer. The power connector on the back of the unit looks similar to an old S-Video connector and disconnects easily just by moving the mixer around a little on the desktop. Do other Behringer mixers use this same power connector? Have you experienced similar issues? Thanks.

Hello Van, welcome to the community.

Many of Behringer's small analogue mixers use a mini-DIN connector for the power supply. I haven't had any fall out in normal use. If it is very loose it may be defective. Perhaps you should contact your supplier.

-mjk- My Q502USB uses that same connector. Try pushing it into the jack a bit harder. As long as you are applying pressure in a straight line in the same plane as the connector you won't do any damage. Sometimes, it takes a bit more pressure to properly seat the plug. Mine has never fallen out in 5 years of use, as long as I push it in tight.

    Hi
I recently downloaded the Open Stage Control software to make a custom control set for my x32 core. Sending the signals to the x32 via OSC is working great but I'm struggling to get information from the x32 to the software. Has anyone done this or know enough to point me in the right direction.

    Much appreciated,

      Hi Dave @DaveBeauclerr ,

Since the app is called OSC, it is unclear whether it is communicating with the X32 via midi or OSC (Open Sound Control) protocol. If it is via midi, the X32 receives midi commands, but does not return any responses. It is a single directional setup. If it can communicate to the X32 via OSC protocol, can you provide an example of an OSC command you are sending the X32?

      Hi Paul, hope you're well...

point taken... communicating via Open Sound Control to the software. no MIDI involved in this setup.

My aim is to create access to all 32 headamps and phantom power on one page for easy access for my setup. Using /headamp/000/gain let's me control the gain from the software but it's not receiving any information.

To query current state, just send the command, with no value. For example:

      /headamp/000/gain

      or

      /headamp/000/gain ,f

(depending on the format used by the app).

Using the debugger in the app all OSC commands are going out and working but when I move anything on the x32 the software doesn't receive anything back. Maybe I need to envoke a listen command but not yet sure how to do that.

      Dave,

You need to tell the X32 you want to receive data when changes take place at the desk. use the /xremote OSC command for this. It has to be renewed in order to sustain continuous receiving.

Download and read the OSC protocol doc; page 9

I have plugged in an X32 rack with 4.0 firmware into AES-50 "C" on the Wing FW 1.06.

I have a green light for sync on AES50 C on the wing. The X32 rack is clocked off AES50-A (its own AES50 A port).

I have configured sources on the Wing AES50 C as the first 16 inputs of the X32 rack. However things are not showing up properly. Any suggestions for setup that I have missed?

    Still tweaking/working here.

What do you have assigned on the Rack Routing, AES50 A1-8, A9-16, A17-24 and A25-32? I would suggest you export the X32 Rack scene and attach it to your next post (Choose File below).

Hi Mark, does the rack show sync on aes50 A? The Wing will see the Rack as aes50c in so sources should be aes50c 1-16 for whichever ch's you choose, I assume ch 1-16. So ch 1 should be sourced by aes50c in 1, ch 2 by aes50c in 2 etc etc up through ch16.

      All is well now.

      Loaded a clear X32 preset.

Then setup under "routing" AES50 outputs are looking at Local Ins 1-8, 9-16, Aux Ins 1-5M, Local InsT

Also setup XLR Outs to listen to AES50.

      Works great!
