Incidentally, I have no idea why all the photos are upside down. ?♂️

Because you took them with your camera upside down and the device auto-rotates them, but the upload doesn't respect the rotation meta-data.  Windows photo thumbnails and my iPhone don't usually get along either.  At least they didn't in the past.

Hi there. I took the Default Scene, from which I have written a new Scene on X32 Edit for my church's X32 Compact and now no sound is coming out of any of the outputs. I'm sure I have missed something very simple, as I'm a bit of a novice on Digital Mixers.

From what I understand, by proxy, all Channel signals get routed to the L/M/R Bus and then can be assiged to matrixes afterward, at which point only 2 FX can be added to the singnal path globally (say the GEQ on L/M/R and a DeEsser on Matrix).

What I'm trying to accomplish is to apply 3 separate FX to all the signals globally prior to exiting the board.

    What I have done:

    • Unassiged all of my Channels from LR and sent them all to a Mix Bus (FX 1 assigned to this Bus).
    • Sent the Bus to the LR Bus (FX 2 assigned to this Bus).
    • Sent the LR Bus out to several Matrixes (FX across each Matrix)
    • Assigned the Matrix to the Outputs for the FOH L and R
    • This way, I achieve 3 FX on all the signals going out of the board...so I thought

    Routing:

    • Main L was assigned to Out 7 --> I changed this to: Maxtrix 5 assigned to Out 7
    • Main R was assigned to Out 8 --> I changed this to: Matrix 6 assigned to Out 8

    Issues:

    • No sound coming out of the Speakers
    • I have not moved anything physically on the back of the board

Does anyone know what I have done wrong here? I have shared the scene file and a couple of pics for troubleshooting purposes.

    Thanks!

The scene you posted does't match the picture of the new scene. Check your XLR routing. You have Out 9-16 going to both XLR 1-8 (and 9-16). Since the "New' scene has all Out 9-16 set to "off" you wouldn't get any signal to the XLRs.

      VMIJBF04

@DaveMorrison The X32 Compact only has 8 physical XLR outputs...all of which are being used and none of which were moved or disconnected.

The old scene had Out 9-16 mirrored the same as Out 1-8...I'm guessing for internal routing/patching. I turned them OFF because I had no use for them and assumed it would have no effect on the routing of the output signals.

The only real change I made was changing the signal path going to Out 7&8 (FOH) from the LR Bus (stereo) to Matrix 5&6 (stereo pair). I'll check it again when I get back to the church.

Could there be something else wrong?

I agree that's the way it should be, but the Default Scene that currently works is routed exactly like the picture you posted. I didn't change anything in routing except the P16 Ultranet and the Out 1-16 Tabs.

    Hello,

First I have to confess that I am impressed of this console. I bought X32 at 2012 as areplacement for the LS9-32 and was very happy with it. Now I own a X32 Rack and Producer beside the new WING. The WING brings a lot of new, really cool and helpful features and sounds great. With the new features comming with the latest firmware it went a great step in the right direction form me.

My most loving features are the User Layers, the VSS3 and the replacements of the stock processing stuff (gate, comp and EQ).

But with the eating the appetite is increasing constantly, so my wishlist is also increasing

Here it is (not ordered in any way):

    • Full show management with snippets and cue lists
    • Complete set of remote control software, first of all a WING-Edit offline editor
    • Ganging (Channel Link) even if it is greate to allow stereo sources, it would be helpful to link some processing off two or more channels
    • Delay setup of the outputs like it was on the X32. I think this was a really helpfull feature to align speaker systems without burning matrices
    • A lot of peaple complaint about the block of eight system of the X32, but I think this was a faster way to reassign the input sources of the processing channels than the channel by channel stuff of the WING. Maybe Behringer can rethink the assignment preceder. I also like the way the GLD80 worked. You can select a range of input sources and assigne the whole block to some channels in one step.
    • Copy function for the source configuration. It would be helpful to be able to copy the setup of, for instance, the AES50A inputs, to the WING-Live or Card Ins. This would be helpful for a fast switch to VSC or similar stuff
    • For the Copilot App I wish that it would also allow me to use the preconfigured names like you have on the console itself.
    • Multiband Compressor and Dynamic EQ would be a nice add on to the FX Rack or, even more handy, as a replacement for the stock EQ or dynamics. But I think the second wish would need too much processing power.
    • Global Tap Tempo control as a assignable button
    • DAW Controls
    • Play/Stop/Pause... Control via lower assignable area when pressing the 2-Track or Multitrack Transport button.
    • Visualize the source mute state on the channel strip directly. this source mutes are hardly to find because you have to check the whole sources one by one.
    • I love the function of the A&H consoles when the layer button starts to blink red because one of the assigned channels or busses ist starting to clip. this helps a lot to find those clipping signals on non active layers. That would be fine to have it also on the WING
    • I also love the adjustable meter ballistics of the dLive. you can for instance increase teh peak hold time so that you can see the problem when you switch to the questionable layer.
    • I am also missing the spectrograph display of the RTA. Can you apply it also on the WING?

So, that is my current wishlist. Hopefully some of that can be implemented in the future.

    Kind regards from Austria

I've not seen too many boards that had a "Global" tap-tempo.  You can assign the Time parameter of an FX slot to a UDK.  I don't use too many delays though, just two in my own setup to easily swap between a slapback and classic delay style effect.  Slapback doens't tend to change timing and the tap for the Echo delay is just one button.  Anywhere I'd want to use the same delay timing I'd just route multiple sources into one Fx bus.

Wing has some FX delays, so it would be great to choose which FX to tap with one button

@Mr_Bongo Easily done with the User defined keys, either the upper or lower bank.  Hit the view button, tap the button onscreen that corresponds to the one you want to assign.  Scroll to Fx Params and assign the Time parameter of the delay you want a tap for.  You can hit the Name dialog to the left of the screen to set what you want to show on the screscribble strip above the user defined button.

Hi. I have this problem: led level meter doesn't blink.

    That's my configuration:

    LINE IN 2/3: electronic drum set;

    LINE IN 4/5: MP3 base from TABLET;

    2 TRACK OUTPUT: to PC MIC input (for use with audacity editing software);

LINE OUT: to stereo sound machine

I hace noted that if i connect electronic drum set to LINE IN 1, it function normally (led level meter show signal)

Can you give me some suggestion ?

    thanks

Hello Claudio, welcome to the community.

I believe that Line In 1 has more gain than the stereo channel inputs. Try increasing the output level of your stereo sources.

I have solved this problem, but now is there another strange things with 2-track sector switches:

      1) I listen a low sound volume when switch on "2 TR TO MIX"
      2) I listen sound in my ear-phones with "2 TR TO MIX" switch both on or off.

No 2-TR TO PHONES is switch off.

Also, it's very strange that led level meter blink only when 2-TR TO PHONES is switch on or when line in and main volume are very high.

    Dear all,

I am now somewhat familar with my new X32 Rack but I am missing physical XLR inputs. That's why I am considering buying a SD8 and a SD16 Digital Snake. The X32 Rack has only 16 physical XLR inputs and we need 20 Is it possible to connect a SD8 Digital Snake to AES50 A and a SD16 Digital Snake to AES50 B and have all 24 physical Digital Snake XLR inputs + the local 16 XLR inputs controlled by the X32 Rack? What I mean by "controlled" - mapped to the logical 40 inputs of the X32 Rack using the faders and channel strips on X-Touch and X32-Edi? Or am I missing here something?

    Thanks for you help

      @striple66

You can use any of the 32 XLR inputs for the mixer's 32 channels + 6 other XLRs mapped to the auxiliary channels for a total of 38 channels. Aux 7 & 8 are "hardwired" to the USB recorder. Since the AES50 bus has 48 inputs and outputs, you could alternatively daisy-chain the SD16 and SD8 together and accomplish the same thing from just one of the mixers AES50 ports.

Hi Dave, thanks a lot for your answer. In other similar (but not identical) questions and answers from other guys here in this community, there were often the recommendation to daisy-chain the two SD8 / SD16 Digital Snake boxes instead of connecting one to AES50 A and the other stage box to AES50 B. What are the implications on connecting both stage boxes in a daisy-chain manner and separating them on the two different AES50 ports on my X32 R? Second question: on the routing page on my X32 R, channels 17-24 and 25-32 are in [square] brackets, meaning that they are not physically existent on the console. This - I do understand But in the manual they say this:

"Local inputs 17-24 and 25-32 are listed with brackets, indicating that these are not physically avaiable on this device. Assigning these will obviously carry no signal, but they still can be used when preparing shows for a full X32 console".

      What does this mean?

      Thanks and all the best

Hi @striple66 The implications are that ALL your aes50 inputs will be seen as Aes50 A, instead of 16 as A and 8 as B. (Or 8 as A and !6 as B). If your first connected stage box was the SD16, the first 16 ch's (sd16) would be aes50a 1-16 and the next 8 (sd8) would be aes50a 17-24. Using 2 different ports One would be aes50A 1-16 and the other aes50B 1-8. The outputs of either would be set by the switch at the end of each.

It means that you could setup a scene at home with routing to those ch's included and when you get to a mixer that can load them (and has those physical inputs) they will work as intended.

Hi Gary, thanks a lot. But does this have any technical reasons in terms of "if you do it this way, you won't hear a thing in your console", or "it is not possible to do the routing then" if I choose one these connections alternatives? @GaryHiggins @DaveMorrison

I believe they put the brackets there to remind us we're using a full sized core which is missing half it's inputs and outputs. We could route signal there if we just had some way to add more inputs and outputs?. I used to think they were confusing, but now think they are totally unnecessary (and unnecessarily confusung).

Apologies if this has been covered before, i did search and couldn't find anything

Hope to use my XR 18 at an upcoming gig (to save space) but cannot find in the XAir app where the Library presets are.

I use these a lot on my X32 in X32 Edit

Am I missing something or are they not available with XAir/XR18 setup?

      Hi Tim @SegdirbMit

Sorry for the delay (had a funeral to attend and be pall bearer). The X-Air does not have a library like the X32. But you can load a channel preset (including ones from the X32) using the Load, Load Channel Preset and load it from your computer.

      Paul,

      My optimism outweighed my ability

I have Xair open on my iPad and connected to the XR18

i select a specific channel, this offers a tab called 'Presets'

This offers the chance to create a new preset which I did

Then it says save or load. Which do i do and where do I load from? I don't want to lose everything I already set up in the app

Apologies for being a 'numpty' (english expression), could you maybe give me more detailed guidence?

Thanks, you are a star and deserve all the 'kudos' ponts going

      Hey Tim @SegdirbMit

Unfortunately I can't help a lot with the iPad app (since I don't own any Apple products). But I would think that once you save a preset (which will save to the device - iPad in your case), you can then later load that preset when you need it. I do all of my preset saving/loading from my laptop (previously Win7, now using Linux Mint) and just use my android tablet (with Mixing Station Pro) for mixing.

Funny, I had to look up 'numpty' even though as Canadians we pride ourselves as being bilingual (British and American fluent). What you are asking is a very valid question.

Just a note that the RTA is always stuck on whatever channel is currently displayed on the console, in the Mixing Station app [ currently 1.03(12) ]

I submitted it David, he said it was a firmware limitation, and there was nothing he can do about it right now.

    - This happens on both Android and IOS (Mixing Station) pro apps.

    - I also checked out the RTA Autogain feature, and right now that only works on the console, and not Mixing Station.  The app has it's own seperate "RTA Offset" knob for the RTA.

btw; Mixing Station Pro works really great on the iPad! The custom layers & layouts load up across different platforms really well!  Hope you add copy/paste on the app sometime soon!  I find that with custom layers and layouts, your app is much easier to use than the console itself.  I attached a "16 channel" layer and layout file* for fun.  You can unzip the .msz file, copy it to your google drive, then load the file from google drive directly from the app.  I setup the custom layers in it to always keep the DCAs availible as much as possible for speed.

    - ( * the mute buttons still need to be assigned in the layout.

    Nice Job David!

    Thanks!

Totally agree, tried to set it up so that we could adjust the room. RTA can't be set to the measure mic with Mixing Station while on the EQ of the MAIN on the Wing.

      Hopefully they'll change the firmware.

I use an x 32 Rack and then I have an external Bricasti m7 reverb that I use for my vocals.
I have little doubt if I have connected this Bricasti right, there is nice sound through and everything works as it should, but my doubt is whether to set the mixbus to 2 channels and pan out these two channels left and right or just run it with 1 channel and no panning.

I connected to aux out on x32 from Bricasti input left and right
and to aux in on x32 from Bricasti output left and right.
Audio routing on Bricasti is set to stereo, but you can easily set this to Left or right, and then only put cable in either left and right in put on Bricasti, but still with stereo output signal for X32.

I'm very doubtful since vocals are a mono signal, but Bricasti is a stereo reverb ..

I have seen this link with the connection

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xO1087ifsQM

and read your description in the manual

The pictures below shows how I'm connecting right now with stereo feed from mu Bricasti M7.

D:fact on channel 2 is my main microphone.
but I'm still in doubt so really hope you can help meIMG-4679.JPGIMG-4680.JPGIMG-4681.JPGIMG-4682.JPGIMG-4683.JPGIMG-4684.JPGIMG-4678.JPG

If you use this reverb only on vocals, which are a mono source then you don't need a stereo bus in the first place! Go with one bus in that case. Otherwise link a two buses together (the mixer will automatically adjust their pan). To answer your question, I don't think panning would make a difference in your case.
