    Hi,

i am interested in the Behringer Poly D. I noticed that it has stereo output. Maybe a dumb question, but how shall i connect it to an amp which has only mono input. Shall i use a stereo to mono adapter cable? Or shall i connect the left output channel of the poly D to the mono line-in 1 of the amp and the right poly d output channel to mono line-in 2 of the amp? Please forgive me if the above question sounds dumb, but In the past i connected the stereo outputs of my devices just to the stereo input of my computer, but the Poly D i would like to use with a keyboard amp.

I don't have a Poly D, but on most synths, the left output defaults to a summed mono output if you don't plug anything into the right output. Consult the manual if there isa one.

    Hi there,

i am new to the community, but not new to synths and musical instruments - I do that since the early 80s

Got my Crave these days and I really like it, but as an early adopter, you always run into bugs and oddities.

Since I dont know if opening a ticket is the way to go for reporting bugs (the system is not suited for that), I will post my findings here, since this is the manufactureres board someone sould read that and take it to the developers, which seem to be Rob and Pete in Manchester, really nice guys!

    However, here are my findings:

Quickstart Guide, german section: typo on page 18, upper right corner, the crave is twice called „crate“. Well, some kind of disrespectful

Quickstart Guide: Page 42, Tempo Receive Modes. Should be named Sync Modes.

Option 3 says "DIN Sync". This is confusing, since this is a fixed term and means a connectivity that the Crave does not have (pre-MIDI sync on Roland gear), it should be named MIDI sync, because thats what it is.

Hint1: If set to this mode and a clock is detected, you can adjust the scale with the tempo knob, the location LEDs work as a meter for that.

Hint2: If there was a external clock and now you like to start the sequencer on its own, you have to press play twice to get it on its own clock.

BUG: In Tempo Receive Mode 1, CV/Gate, it still receives MIDI Start/Stop, should only work in option 3

LFO used as VCO does not track octaves correctly, I hope this can be adjusted by a trimpot, but unlike on the VCO, there is no hole in the top case at that location

Synth tool V1.3.1 does not include Crave, it did in 1.2 and was removed. I hope there will be an update, since Pro-1 is also missing.

      Update:

Synth Tool V2 does work with the Crave now, and it has a firmware update: 1.06.

This new firmware seems to alter the swing factor, so If your sequnces sound funny, adjust SWING and store them again.

LFO is still useless as second VCO since it does not track in clean octaves. Maybe this has to be adjusted via trimpot.

Attack time zero causes random click noises, was not fixed with 1.06, reported that via ticket now. Increasing Attack time lets the clicks disappear.

    Hi,

Received the synth this week and have firmware 1.1.0-23f. I noticed after a google search there is a 1.1.2 firmware.

How do i get this and perform the update?

There is also a second issue with the Deepmind App 1.05 on PC, I can see the D12 in the Input and Output devices but it will not connect even after pressing Resync. Device ID is set to 1

MIDI comms over USB and standard Midi connections via Mio2 interface seem fine with playing from a keyboard.

Not sure if you have updated, but go to Behringer.com -> downloads-> select Deepmind12d ->dL the firmware info file and follow the directions.

I did manage to get the firmware updated after googling for it, but I've sent the synth back now to thomann for a refund as the outputs where too noisy. I'll get another maybe in the future as it is a lovely synth, but I've ordered a Hydrasynth now.

    Hi All,

Just purchased a new Odyssey, slowly getting the hang of it. One thing I've noticed & can't seem to cure is while playing, the volume & sharpness of a note increases dramatically (its like a plucking effect) as I'm pressing the key. If I press the key gently all is ok, but sometimes I get this LOUD sharp noise on top of the note I'm playing. Any clues anyone?

Am I just to heavy fingered?

Hi that is the accent you are triggering, use the Synth Tool to adjust what velocity it activates or turn it off.

Since the newest update (Firmware 1.1.1) the clock divider is back and works fine if you set the clock source to "auto" ind SynthTool.

If i use the "PLAY/STOP" button it uses the internal clock and if I use start/stop in my DAW it uses the DAWs clock, but it keeps resetting the clock divider everytime. So everytime i press SPACE it plays through my sequence really fast and when I change the clock divider it stops being weird. But when I restart the sequence it goes crazy again.

    Anyone else with this problem?

PLS help. I'm sick of not being able to properly use the crave.

Using a Beatstep Pro I can confirm this!

As workaround I found that "Sequencer Auto Sync" means that the sequencer is starting/not-starting with a play MCC (?) so one could turn down the sequence divider and then start by hand... Sucks.

I wonder if that "Sequencer Auto Sync" is properly named and why I did not found that before. I like the behaiviour because I have the Beatstep and als using a DAW why would one use the internal sequencer...

      Yes, it is very frustrating.

Why the f... the clock division has to be reset to 16th notes everytime when starting/stopping to external sync clock is beyond me. I would say it is a bug in the firmware / behaviour of the sequencer Behringer needs to fix.

I want to critizise the software development on the behringer synths. The bugs show a pretty unimmaginativ, unpractical, inexperienced handwriting. limitations that dont save any cpu resources, missunderstood festures and workflows of the original machines. When the developers are too young to know the originals on a personal level, there should be at least betatesters with knowledge.

many essential things inbetwern the synths sre not working.. a td-3 cant trigger a pro-1 for exampel.. so no compatability between behringer synths?

there is the attempt to add a little more software features to the behringer remakes. But too little, too unimaginative.

I see that this is not a point until at least the base function work.

where the td-3 as a sequencer instruments lacks the most in relation to an original 303..

But we live in the 21th century now.. 40 years later. Original concepts could be improoved.. not diminished..

pro-1 for example.. Behringer adds duophoni, great..

But why not making the little sequencer duophonic too than? that would be great, and easy to implement without interfeering with the original functionality. If you need a concept, i could provide one for free..

In case the readons are really a kack in own ideas.

Behringer doesn't know how to do stuff. If they have to copy, ok, but as soon they have to deal with problems or change the digital side of your gear they fail. I was really hyped for all this new synth. My Neutron which is an original synth from them sounds great thank to the CEM 3340 and the filter but the rest it seems the first DIY project of somebody. Honestly if I have to accept compromise to save some penny I prefer have a simpler synth. Having your pulse width behave strangely is not a compromise is absolutely **bleep**ed up especially when Behringer claim that's how it should behave. So we're basically talking about a company that doesn't know how synthesiser works and after they "steal" eurorack circuit without even mention them I'm out with them. Sure I won't have 4 synth for $1000 but at least I'll get a synth that works and I can enjoy

my pro-1 will only play midi notes 36-120.
      firmware is latest version.

i swapped it out for my model d as a test. connected the same way. that works fine.

cv & gate do not work on their own.
when connected by midi, the cv & gate work only when a midi note is transmitted.

please tell me what i'm missing. thanks and best wishes.

Hi. If I connect my new MS 101 to my behringer 6 channel mixer using a mono jack output cable to twin left right stereo input on my mixer I get really bad feedback coming though the speakers. If I switch the cable to mono Jack out to mono Jack in on the mixer its completely fine. I have tried different cables and each time if I use a mono to stereo its gets really loud feedback. Does this sound like a faulty unit? Thanks.

I don't know for sure, but if the MS 101 output is mono, using a mono to stereo adapter cable will not yield desireable results. This is why most mixers and/or amplifiers have a "left/mono input. You cannot get stereo from a mono source. Most older synths (Minimoog, ARP Odyssey, etc) were mono.

@Freeediee Hard to see it all but my guess is a strain relief for a power adapter cord?

Thought about that. It could be. So that it doesn't unplug if you move it accidentally?

      thanks for the answer.

synth tool 2.3.3 win , just released, has the same issue, no device detected. software is not userfirendly that way. other manufactures' controlling software are able to conect to their devices with midi without disabling other mido devices /drivers . you should do the same Behringer

I must say that it works *much* better than other manufacturer software...

I have a bunch of drivers/stuff installed and Synthtool always works.

      Maybe check your cable?
