    Hi,
we have a project that would include TC-Helicon Blender in several packages but we need it fully functional on Raspberry Pi (Linux).

Do you plan to release Linux drivers for it?

It would mean us a lot, and we would be able to make our project come true with your product which solves a lot of pain we had to make this possible! With your device we would only need Raspberry Pi and Blender to make it possible!

Please if there's a way, tell us how we can help!

    Best regards,
    Vedran

Also, I've tried it on Windows 10 with your drivers, and while it should work as ASIO device, in software I've tried it didn't work at all.

      Tried:

      - vMix

      - OBS x64

      - Audacity

The blender is core audio compliant so it should work on linux without any 3’rd party drivers.

      Hi,

I've tried it on Linux, but while it gets recognized by it, I can't use it in any software.

TC-Helicon says that they don't support Blender for Linux, and that they don't even think about doing a support for that case...

Can anyone else test this out and for sure say that it works for them?

      @Roblof  ?

      Thanks!

There is a way to make the tc-helicon Blender work on Linux, but it is not the most convenient one.
If you were to plug-in the device into a Windows box first, let the driver initialize the device, then unplug the USB cable and plug it into a Linux box, you will get 12 input channels in Ardour and a playback back to the Blender working perfectly fine.

It looks like the only part that is missing is just the initial handshake between the driver and the device.

    My setup:

32 inputs of mic and DI into Midas DL32 Stage Box running through the Behringer Cat5 standard 50m reel to the console.  There are no secondary consoles in play.

I choose AES-50A 1-8, 9-16, 17-24, 25-32 as my input sources for the four input banks.  Everything functions as expected.

I connect the KT DN32 USB card to a Mac laptop running a current OS and a current version of ProTools to record, and I also hope to playback as a virtual soundcheck.

FYI - I also record USB flash drive copies of the LR mix each night (recording pre-LR dynamics and pre-LR EQ) so I am only capturing the sounds of the channel processing and mix blends, and I can also use those as general speaker tuning reference material at a new venue, however I would like to be able to work on individual channel sounds.

My expectation of the KT USB card would be that it is capturing raw channel signals, “post" head amp gain (in this case DL32 head amps), and “pre" any console processing (HPF, Polarity, EQ, dynamics, inserts, etc).
    Is that correct?

My expectation after I successfully captured a 32 track ProTools file - which I did - is that I could have a channel by channel virtual soundcheck from the Pro Tools playback, and work on fine tuning channel processing as if the player was playing in front of me.
    Is that correct?

I setup ProTools to recognize the DN32 as the master interface and clock source.  In ProTools, I selected the DN32 as the input device, assigned Input 1 to Channel 1, etc... up to assigning Channel 32 to Input 32, and successfully recorded a 32 channel session from the live event.

Subsequently, in ProTools, I selected the DN32 as the output device, and I assigned Ch 1 to Output 1, etc…. up to assigning Channel 32 to Output 32.

On the M32 Routing Page, on the Inputs tab, I selected Card 1-8, Card 9-16, Card 17-24, Card 25-32 as my input sources for the four input banks.

I’m expecting each channel to see an individual ProTools track associated with that channel - hopefully, coming in through a Trim knob set to “0” so that the channel sees the input at the identical gain that it would have been from the DL32 Stage Box with the original gain of “X” dB dialed in.
    Is that correct?

I’m not seeing any audio except on Channel 1 which is totally overloaded.

Do I have a Midas / KT issue, or perhaps a ProTools issue?

This seems very simple, but I'm not getting the expected result.  Comments?

On the inputs page you want either local or aes50a ch’s, not card. Local for whatever m32 ch’s used and aes50a for whatever DL32 chi’s you are using. That’s when the record section (at the bottom of the inputs page in m32-edit) is set active and recording, when playback is active then you want card ch’s. You set that by selecting play at that same location. Also in card out set that to whatever inputs you used as well, that is whatever ch’s you want sent to your card to record.

Well - obviously my earlier reply just dissappeared into the ether...

Your suggestions seem to be more oriented to using the M32 and DN32 USB card in a studio context, and exploring the abilities of the M32 as a DAW control surface.

I am not trying to go back and forth between recording and playback as if it was a recording session.  I am not trying to control the DAW.  I am also not running additional control software on a laptop (the M32Edit software?)  I am just trying to acquire 32 channels of previously recorded soundcheck material to fine tune console channel sounds at a subsequent venue.

I am under the impresssion that I can playback DAW tracks as soundcheck material during a live concert setup without necessarily putting the M32 into "DAW Control" mode.  Is that correct?

      Perhaps I have misunderstood...

You say "On the inputs page you want either local or aes50a ch’s, not card..." How would selecting my stage box or my local inputs access the playback of audio from my DAW?

To restate the details of my first post, I am initially sourcing audio from my stage box via AES50A, and routing that into a 32 track ProTools session successfully.  That was accomplished by setting M32 inputs to the appropriate AES50A banks 1-8, 9-16, 17-24, 25-32, and then by using the ProTools Playback engine setup to locate and select the KT DN32 card as the master interface, and assigning inputs 1:1... 32:32  Recording happened with no problem.

On playback, In ProTools, I  assigned each of 32 tracks of audio to the corresponding mono outputs (1:1... 32:32).  On the M32 inputs page I selected Card 1-8, 9-16, 17-24, 25-32 as my M32 channel1-32 sources.  This is where I have the problem.  I only get audio on Channel 1.

I'm not sure how your suggestion applies to my situation or what I am trying to acomplish.

      Please elaborate.

It looks like your setup is correct. This is the way it's supposed to work. Now it's troubleshooting time. Do you really have 32 channels on the USB? Is the M32 receiving all 32? Under the Setup > Card tab, Do you have 32 In/Outs selected? If you want to post your current scene file, we can take a look.

Well, thank you for confirming that this is something that should be possible, and that my general approach seems sound.

That’s a good thought to look  at the Card set up page.  I was unaware of that page until I watched a Music Group webinar (with Justin? & John?) this morning. If I recall correctly, there are 4 options determining how many outputs and how many inputs.

As my recording happened exactly as intended, I conclude I have 32 out.

It seems like the input options were 32X32 and 32X8.

Even if it were set to 32X8, why would I only see audio on channel 1?   I think I would see audio on channels 1 through 8.

There is definitely audio evenly distributed on every on every track  of the recording.

I will be on site tomorrow, and be able to check some things and get some scene files at that time. The console is living onsite for a 10 week show.  It is possible I have an output configuration wrong in ProTools but I have also been working through that process this week, and believe I did it correctly.

I have an XR-16 and I am trying to setup a secure WEP. I have followed all instructions I have found to create a password protected WEP for this, power cycled several times, initialised to factory settings and re-done the whole process five times. It STILL refuses to be accessible via password!

And I have used the hard reset button on the XR prior to each attempt to set this.

Using the laptop over WI-FI and under the available networks it only shows the XR as an open network, when I click on it to connect it does not ask for any password even though this has been set in the PC Editing app setup page.

Can anyone advise exactly how you do setup a secure WEP?

Oh and even via Ethernet (with the switch in the correct position) all I get is an "unidentified network) in windows 10

    Thanks

And please, at this stage, no comments re using a separate router! I'll cross that bridge when I get basic functionality!

      The procedure is this:

Connect your PC to the XR's access point. Open XAir-Edit and connect to the XR. Open the Setup -> AP tab. Click the WEP button. Enter the required password in the KEY field. Click APPLY. Exit X-Air Edit.

Move the XR's network switch to Ethernet and wait ten seconds. Move the switch back to Access Point. You should now be able to connect your PC to the XR's WEP-secured access point. Restart X-Air Edit and connect to the XR.

At this stage nothing works! I cannot even change the LAN to DHCP it seems to want to stay "fixed" on Static...so All I can do at this stage is connect via open wi-fi using the inbuilt router as nothing and I mean NOTHING else works, or even hints at working.

And the whole secured thing, nah it just does not seem to "take" - I'll give it one more go and I'll follow to the letter what you wrote!

Brilliant! thanks - I was sure I was doing those steps, but I obviously was missing something. Mebbe not waiting long enough on the delay to go back to AP!

Now to try and sort the LAN and external router issues - although as it now has a 13 digit password, would I really need to worry about an external router?

      @DennisMilsom

I'm happy to hear that you are making progress.

The internal access point is OK for use at home but I recommend that you use an external router for gigs. The internal access point does not cope well in the presence of many smartphones hunting for connections to the internet. It also works only on the 2.4GHz Wifi band which is very congested.

I recommend getting a dual-band router that supports 802.11ac 5GHz Wifi standard, has multiple external antennas and two or more network sockets. The 5GHz Wifi band is less congested and more resistant to interference. Having multiple sockets on the router allows for a local wired connection to a PC or Tablet in case of Wifi problems. High speed is not essential - an AC750, AC1000 or AC1200 router would be fine.

@RexBeckettThanks - I am having issues getting even my existing spare (2.4) router working over the LAN. It is at the moment unsecured and open, but I cannot log in to the settings (to set a password) without it needing a live internet connection! And futher, even with it at open security, the XR refuses to see the LAN connection. I tried the longer wait time before flicking back to LAN as well! So the way I am thinking is that at least the internal has some sort of protection and that if the external has no protection then it is not better at all really??

As for smartphones searching, I read that most of these actually ignore secured networks when doing their searching? And if that holds true, then the internal would not get as hammered by "search and connect" requests??

Please keep in mind I am not trying to disagree at all, just trying to wrap my head the varying opinions on a technology (in live stage work) that is very new to me.

as there where already some picture leak.
When would Behrigner release this version?
Would be nice to have it on a GIG at the weekend.

I am happy to be a beta tester even.

I would never take a new release into a live gig.
Enough things can go wrong on a live gig, I don't need a headache because some feature or setting does not perform as expected.
I love my X32, but don't like to be suprised by some unexpected behaviour.
I welcome any new feature, but will only take it to a live gig after a decent test.

M32-R Panning in DAW Remote mode.

    Hello all.

I am using my M32-R In DAW Remote mode, how do I get the pan knob and solo buttons to work with the selected channel I am using? I have no idea how to solve this, as there is only a dedicated main bus Pan/Bal knob and no pan for each channel. I am using Cubase 10.5 Pro on a Mac with OS Mojave.

    Thanks in advance.

    Please help.

    Hi

Love my X32s.thanks for an amazing product Behringer.

V4.0 looks great, however it doesn't work for me.

I have the Utrack X32 card installed and all worked fine before the v4.0 firmware update.

The audio is now distorting and clipping. Horror...

It's also dropping out of record causing wallet and reputation damage..

Others are experiencing this problem also.

The desk is now unusable with v4.0 for my purpose and as the previous firmware has been removed from the downloads page I'm now stuffed.

Will this issue be addressed on the bug fix v4.01 or do i need to go back to using Yamaha ?

Also it would be helpful to assign multiple FX to the mix buss. If this is a possible for your programming guys to look into for V4.01. Just a thought...

Hi Paul, welcome to the community.

I understand that other users have found that they get distorted recordings using the UTrack X32 card if the recorded level exceeds -12dBFS. Cymatic have recently discontinued this card so they may not be working on revised firmware to solve the problem - although it could be worth asking them.

You can still get V3.12 firmware for the X32 from the downloads page if you check the Show Legacy Versions option.

That card is only going to get less and less support from this point on. IF the next firmware fix doesn't solve your issue, I would suggest getting an X-Live card. They can be easily had for $149 and I have seen them as low as $100. They make great live 32 track recordings and will be supported in the future. They are an integral part of the X32/M32 ecosystem.

      Thats a good suggestion.

I dont think that is the way forward for me though.

I'm going to stick with the old firmware for now.

very dissappointing but better than spending more money and f---ing around with cards.

defeats the object of having it all on hard drive....

I must say that I am more than dissappointed with Cymatic who have not even botherd to respond.

they happily took my money but are providing no back-up or support.

I  will NEVER buy anything from Cymatic ever again and I urge everyone else to spread the word how rubish thier after sales are.

      Having said that

I would like to urge Behringer to take into account  individuals such as me who have literally dozens of Behringer devices. We spend an awful lot of money on your products.

We are the lifeblood of your business and deserve to be looked after and cared for.

Please do not render equipment incompatible when making firmware revisions. if you acidentily do, please put it right ASAP.

I had a blow up with Microsoft driver executives about this 10 years ago while releasing thier WIN7os, I angrily let them know that they had cost me a fortune in obsolete periferals and didnt want thier busines any longer unless they put things right. I still havent made a full transition to Apple yet as they made an effort for me.

Point being:  Behringer, you have a duty of care when you move the goal posts..

.BTW, Thanks Behringer for your quick email from support. not the result i was hoping for but at least you made the effort.

      Please fix the firmware.

      Hi Paul @Pau

I think you misunderstand that Behringer never supported this product from Cymatic and made it very clear when it was first released. As far as I know there have been very few forum members that actually used the card. Plus whenever there is a firmware upgrade, it is the responsibility of any 3rd party developer (including myself) to upgrade the product to continue to be compatible to the the new firmware.

No missunderstanding Paul, just trying to get you guys to help pick up the piecies that Cymatic have smashed on the floor.

My point is that the previous firmware worked fine so obviously some code has been messed up with V4.0. it will become evident in other insignificant functions over time (perhaps in the file system), It would be nice if it could be considered when the bugs are ironed out in future firmware updates.

Look everyone, Another example how super quick Behringer are to reply and how shoddy and rotten Cymatic are.

Please everyone be aware how bad that company is and don't waste time or money on thier products. they obviously couldnt care less..

I gave someone edit V2.5 so he could learn the console without having the console in front of him, because that 2.5edit looks like the way that the mixer is laid out. And while on the phone with him yesterday I discovered that when changing the input it reset all of the levels to that send all the way down. I didn’t like it but I could see the advantage to it. I just tried that on edit V4.1 that is the second release of the V4 edit software and is meant to be used with consoles updated to V4.??, I don’t know why the slightly different naming standard. There doesn’t seem to be a setting that will automatically reset the faders all the way down when you change the routing in recent versions of edit. I even checked edit V3.1 and it behaves the same way as edit V4.1 does. so they changed this behavior a while ago.

    Hey Team,

So we updated to the v4 firmware last week which we're loving, but noticed a few issues.

Firstly, it reset my libraries and snippets. I did a backup of everything before I did the update, so I was able to restore them, HOWEVER, when I imported all my libraries, I only had 46 loaded, with the other 53 as blanks. I had spaces between some items so I could "block" content together to break it up a bit. When the 46 items imported, they renumbered themselves to have no gaps in between, but they also wiped the other 53 items, and I can now no longer save items to those 53 slots in the library. If I hit the utility button it shows the other 53 as greyed out and I can't select them at all. How can I get access to these 53 please? Also, it would be super helpful when saving a library item to "insert above" or "insert below" another item so I can re-order my list. For example, I have 6 singers mics all saved alphabetically. Say I want to add another singer whose name starts with "A", I want to be able to go "insert/save above" my singer whose name starts with "B" so it's quick and easy to find it next time. Especially since my spaces have gone.

The other issues we had was the static IP address reset itself to auto (quick easy fix), some of the icons didn't update relative to each other (e.g. we had the "crowd" icon which on channels swapped to the new singing icon but on the bus changed to another icon completely which I can't remember. Easy fix, but a bit odd).

Just a quick feature request as well. When recalling a library item, it would be good to be able to load the scribble strip colour seperate to all the other elements. We have colours on our mics and when we call the item it resets to the colour it was when we saved it. I would like to just be able to load the name and the icon if possible.

      Hi hbc

      Thanks for reaching out

Firmware upgrades do replace the internal memory, so it is unavoidable to have some data loss.
This will be somehow prevented from this FirmWare 4.00, by asking a user to do a console backup before updating the mixer.

Concerning libraries and importing presets, the FW 4.00 had problems when importing presets made prior to FW 2.12, this will be corrected in the next release. A temporary workaround would be to use X-Edit to transfer those presets to your mixer. You could also check the preset files using a basic text editor, they should start with "#4.0#". If it starts with a single "#", thats the cause of the problem... You can fix those files by adding the proper starting version number, but using X-Edit will be way faster.

Regarding the fact that you can no longer save in those slots, it's because you are scrolling the list using the LOAD encoder, this selects only the presets that can be loaded. Try scrolling using the SAVE encoder.
In this FW 4.00, there are many places where several encoders double the function of other ones. It was a bit of a shame to have useless encoders, and it can somehow save you if you have a faulty encoder.

For those "Insert preset" feature request, the tricky part would be to fit it in the user interface in an understandable way. For this task, I recommend using X-Edit again. This lets you manage the libraries with more flexibility, as its easier to use your computer screen than the builtin mixer screen.

The reseting IP adress is normal, as the mixer defaults to DHCP set to ON when doing a factory reset. So this is not a bug
Icons changed to fit the new design better, they are taken from the channel icons used on the new WING mixer.

It is possible to recall only the Name/Icon/Color part of a preset by using the recall scope on the left.
Select the header of the list to (de)select all elements, and check "Name/Icon". Unfortunately, there's no way yet of locking the colors, but we take note of your request

      Hope all this helped,
      Musically, Adam

Since the Update of my X32 Console to Firmware 4.0 the Routing for VST Host Applications isn`t working. Im using LiveProfessor with newest Software Release. When I am patching the Card outs to send the Local Inputs out and selecting the card In at the X32 to the faders there is an output Visible on the meters in LiveProfessor, but there ist no return to the console.

Its the same in both patching possibilities. 8-Block Routing and user layer point-to-point patch. When i restore to the 3.12 firmware its working fine with exactly the same settings.

Maybe a bug in the new firmware?

@Jojomeurer I can't speak to your exact issue but I struggled earlier today with my XTouch and my mixers, I could not connect no matter what I did...I was sure it must be the firmware BUT when I looked at my setup I noticed all my midi settings and (probably) others elsewhere had been set back to something other than what was on my mixer prior to loading up firmware 4.0. I'm not saying this is your issue but you may want to compare your "old" setup against what 4.0 loaded by default. Something on an overlooked page may have been altered. It's perhaps worth a look.

    Hello Everyone,

Looking to get some help, I am recording on my Behringer X32 SD card, I have the X-live Expansion.  Here is my Config... I am coming in AES50, I have audio, its mixed, I record directly to the SD card, I have the settings on Automatic, 32 in 32 out.  When I go to playback, I cant hear anything, I check the routing and everything seems routed correctly (Card 32 in) on each channel accordingly.  I am using a 64 gig Storage card, 3/10.  the screen says its recording, but no playback.  HELP!Screen Shot 2019-09-22 at 7.49.15 AM.pngScreen Shot 2019-09-22 at 7.49.26 AM.pngScreen Shot 2019-09-22 at 7.49.34 AM.png

What have you got assigned on the Routing, Card Out screen? It should be the same as on the Routing, home (Input) screen in Record mode.

I just checked the Card Out and it is assigned Card out 1-8, 9-16, 17-24, 25-32.  Please Note: So im recording from a Midas M32R, im coming out of the Midas via AES50B (So the Internal Sync is AES50B in setup under synchronization on the X32.  Coming INTO the Behringer X32 Im getting all of the 32 channels and when I hit record on the setup tab the wheels start turning as though its recording on the X32.  when I go to play back do I need to change the Syncronization? or anything Im Missing?

That means that you have assigned the Card IN signals to the Card Out. In other words you are recording a bunch of blank tracks. If you want to record the same thing that you have assigned to the X32 inputs, copy those assignments (Routing, home (Inputs), recording mode) to the Card Out screen.

      When I Record, my home inputs are set to AES50B 1-8, 9-16, -17-24, 25-32.

Do outputs need to be set to anything particular?

When I Playback they are set to Card in 1-8, 9-16, 17-24, -25-32.  still dont see anything registering...  When im recording I do... but when i go to playback its not.  When I playback should the synchronization be different?

Then on the Routing, Card out, assign the following:

      * Outputs 1-8 -> AES50 B1-8

      * Outputs 9-16 -> AES50 B9-16

      * Outputs 17-24 -> AES50 B17-24

      * Outputs 25-32 -> AES50 B25-32

      Then re-record your gig.
