To anyone at TC's support. I understand that some of your Interfaces are breaking the 10 years barrier (Jeez, I have a Konnekt8 from 2006!), but, other brands still support their older prodcuts with regular updates. So, simple as that, is driver development for audio interfaces halted? We´ll have any other driver/firmware version for our audio interfaces so we can use them with the newer OS's?

Yes! I'd definitely like to see a new version of TC NEAR! I have talked my entire band into purchasing TC gear (we have a Konnekt 8, 24D and an Imapct Twin) and now I fear it'll stop working after the next OS update. Currently, we use Mac OS Mojave and Windows 10 (1809) and the interfaces seem to work fine. But it'd be great if there was official support for modern operating systems!

I would like to know, too! I've hung onto my old Konnekt 24d over the years, and would love to carry on using it, as it's STILL great, and offers features that most new interfaces do not! At the moment, I'm running it on a Mac with Mojave (with a Firewire 400 to 800 cable, and a Firewire 800 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter), and it IS still working, but I share the same concern: Will it continue to work when the new version of MacOS comes down the pike? Will the driver continue to be updated for a while? or will I need to start scoping out a new interface?

I just bought a (known working on XP) BCA2000 on the back of a Win 7 driver being listed on Behring's website (!!!!!)

It doesn't work, and as far as I can discover there NEVER WAS a working 64-bit driver.

I find this deception disgraceful and am considering taking it to the British Small Claims Court  under the COnsumer Protection Act.

Anyone know if I'm mistaken and a 64-bit Win7 BCA2000 driver DOES actually exist. and WORK?

    Hello,

very excited about the newcomer Plethora X5. It seems a great and somewhat portable pedalboard.

    A couple of questions:

    • I'm used to work on "preset" based or "patch" based effects - meaning at a click of a button I can turn on and off some effects - can I achive similar funcionality implementing "Boards"?
    • Can I change boards (up and down) using the MASH buttons?
    • Also how quick is the transition between boards? Will I notice any lag?
    • Does it have any kind of "boost" pedal that can be thrown in the board?

    Many thanks in advance!

      Hi Gilmourstrat,

      • Plethora's 5 fx slots, et you bypass/unbypass  individual pedals or the insert loop just like a real pedal board

      • triple clicking the first 2 footswitches lets you toggle boards up and down or you can use midi prg changes to load them

      • yes, changing board is not seamless,as 5 Fx and hundreds of parameters are initialised, so there is a short mute to prevent clicks for smooth transition

      • Plethora X5 doesn't have a Boost pedal included, but you can integrate one via the insert loop (loop can be set to be in front of the board, at the end or anywhere in between

      Best regards,

      Mike

      A quick question @TC-Mike :

Is the Plethora a "pure Tone print unit" or can I make my own effect programming as if it was the real pedal? Meaning can I build my own parameters or just use/adjust what's on the Tone Print?

      Many thanks!!

Yes, you can completly customize and program the individual toneprint pedals in the toneprint app, just like the pedall counter parts . Only difference is, that you have only 3 instead of 4  potmeters per Fx slot/Toneprint pedal to program, but all p3 otmeter functions are programmable, + you gain MASH switch + Expression pedal as additional parameter modifiers that can be programmed for each slot. Expression pedal can control parameters across several pedals, so you can program crossddfades between blocks of pedals. You program your toneprints in the app while monitoring all settings in realtime + you can use the potmeters to control parameters and touchscreen of your ipad or android tablet. Next firmware update, gets a board manager and tuner and trhen we add more Fx...

Hello all! New to Xair18, and new to MusicTribe. When I engage the phantom power on one channel, it engages it for all channels (using android app). Is that a global phantom power button, and if so, is it safe to have on with regular mics/wireless mics, etc? Or is there a setting somewhere to disengage global setting?

Hi Thomas, welcome to the forum.

This is not normal behavior. The 48V Phantom supply is switched individually for each channel. I am not aware of any option to cause global phantom switching.

Are you actually connected to the XR18? There are some settinngs in certain apps that don't work correctly when offline. If the problem persists when connected to the mixer, I recommend that you try Mixing Station XAir (Android or iOS) which definitely doesn't show this problem.

(cross post from a different forum section, thinking this is probably the more appropriate one)

I recently got a Behringer Crave, and I want to play it with a wind controller via MIDI. I want to use some MIDI CC message from the breath pressure to control the filter cutoff. I can set this up by having the "Assign" CV output to a suitable CC (such as channel aftertouch or modwheel, I can use either), and patching "Assign" to "VCF Cutoff".

However, when doing so, the filter modulation is very "chunky", it appears as if the CV value output is only updated on every sequencer step. I don't have the sequencer actually running, but turning the tempo knob changes the update rate (from "every couple of seconds" to "a couple dozen times a second"). Still, this is not nearly often enough to create a smooth filter sweep, and I would expect the CV value to change every time a MIDI message comes in, and not "quantized" by the sequencer.

If I use a separate MIDI-to-CV converter or another synthesizer instead of the Crave MIDI in, and patching that to the CV inputs of the Crave, everything plays just fine and the filter sweep is nice, smooth and responsive.

The other issue I have is with regards to pitch bend. When you play a note and then bend it, everything works fine. When you release the pitch bend wheel, it goes back to "zero bend". However, if you hold the pitch bend wheel and then play a note, things get weirder. Let's say you have the Crave set to the standard +/-2 semitones, and hold the pitch bend wheel "full down". When you play the note, it starts out at -2 semitones, but as soon as you move the wheel a little bit, it jumps down to -4 semitones. Releasing the wheel (still playing the note), it moves to -2 semitones, and "full up" will then take it to 0. It's very obvious if you release the wheel and keep the note going, it's still stuck at -2 (even though pitch bend is centered), releasing the key and pressing it again will give you a different note (the "unbent" one). Not sure how well I explain this, but it's obvious if you try playing a note with the pitch bend wheel already "bent".

Both of these seem to me like they could be firmware issues dealing with the incoming MIDI data, and maybe something that can be fixed. At least the pitch bend issue seems like it can't be intended behaviour. About the CC/Assign issue, I haven't seen anything in the manual that could control that behaviour, or if it is the intended one, but it seems off to me.

I discovered these issues on firmware version 1.0.4, but they have persisted through a couple of updates up to 1.0.8. I have only tried "plain MIDI in", not USB, but I've tried with a couple different MIDI controllers (and compared with other synths), and the issue is isolated to the Crave.

Does anyone else experience the same issues, or know of any way to get around them?

Update: After working a ticket back and forth with customer support, from firmware 1.0.9 (via SynthTool 2.2.0), both the pitch bend and the "assign out" issues have been resolved. It now plays soooo much better with my wind controller.

Hi there, I have a major problem. The first time I used my Deepmind 12 connected via USB midi (I had previously used it not connected to check out the sounds) there was some kind of malfunction as it played itself, and even when I pulled out the USB midi lead, it continued to play.) I thought it might have been a problem with the synth itself so, I tried it again and eventually decided to update the firmware but to no avail. This was cured by trashing Logic X preferences so bad midi instructions must have been being sent. This fixed the autonomous strange play problem. I then noticed that the patches had changed in there sound and were not correct. So I restored the synth using the PROG WRITE key commands on startup restoring all steps 1 -5. Again it made no difference. I downloaded SysEx librarian and ran and installed the factory combined presets using SysEx librarian. However, the original factory sounds have not been re-instated instead I still have the messed up sounds after the midi problem incident.

Can anyone help me get the synth back to the original factory patches, it is working fine now apart from this, but sadly is of little use to me as the sound patches are now unusable. Thanks Dx

    All,

I do live game streams and need a very crisp sound.

I need to mix in 3 PCs and at least a 1 phone and 1 Ipad device.

I have an XLR mic that will need to utilize a Roland VT-3 as well.

I have read that AUX channels 17/18 are the stereo channels for connecting PCs. Is there a way to transform channels 15/16 into the same setup at 17/18 were it is one solo stereo channel? Sames with 13/14 and 11/12 and so on?

The best way i have been able to do it is stereo link but when using compression its not uniform between the channels and treats them as two channels vs 1 channel. Same goes for AUTO mix which then causes a very weird Wobble effect because it will compress the left when it is softer than right to much vs treating them as 1 single channel like aux does for 17/18.

I hope that i am clear.

Awesome so i was doing the link correctly it appears.

That said, the automix feature still treats the stereo channels solo from one another when auto compressing. Meaning it will compress the left channel if the right channel gets louder 15 compressed 16 open even in stereo link. Basically the stereo link is competing with itself instead of acting as one. Is this intended or a bug that will need fixed?

      Paul_Vannatto Hi Nigel,

Welcome to the forum. I think you are misunderstanding the automix feature. It functions in a similar manner as the Dugan Automix devices that were used for panel discussions, etc. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automixer). I don't think it fits your application and it won't work with linked paired channels.

Thank you for the clarification and the warm welcome.

I guess i could do the same thing but using ducking and side chain the channels i need reduced to the mic.

The reason the auto mix almost works perfectly for what I'm going for is i was able to allow my friends talking over voip (almost like a second mic) to talk and also duck the other channels as could I.

Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way and need guidance as I'm new to live mixing and maybe ducking isn't the answer.

For the example below how would i get this to work in a manner to make everything sound crisp and clear and still have everything live going out right at or close to 0.

      Channel 1 - Mic

      Channel 2 - VOIP

      Channel 3 - Guest Mic 1

      Channel 4 - Guest Mic 2

      Channel 15/16 - Computer 1 Stereo - Game Audio

Channel 13/14 - Computer 2 Stereo - Misc Sounds and Audible alerts

      Channel 11/12 - Computer 3 Stereo - Dedicated Music

Paul_Vannatto Hmm... a very good question Nigel. If it was me, I would apply the automixing to the mic channels (ch 1-4), but also send those to a mixbus. Then setup ducking of the stereo channels to be triggererd by that mixbus.

This is originally from another post but I started a new one because I am wondering if other M32 owners have a similar experience with firmware 4.01. Specific to me, this is an M32R. Anyone else tried this yet and had a similar experience?

The back story is with version 4.0 the fader speed on M32's was reduced/smoothed out, it was (and apparantly still is) a permanent change. With this newer firmware 4.01 there is a "fast fader" checkbox that reboots the mixer and was intended to return the faders back to the 'fast' version.

Well there seems to be a BIG bug or something with the new M32 fader speed! I loaded up 4.01 and went right to the config page/fast fader checkbox area to see if I could get my mixer fader speed back the way it was prior to updating to V4. I confirmed I wanted that 'fast fader' option and....it reboots....and it did change BUT It is WAY different than before. Now the faders "snap" in to place (kind of like it used to) but there is this very worrisome fader motor "after spin" sound (more than just sound) that occurs. (a digital mixer's version of grinding gears) I can tell you 100% this never existed before. I went right back to the (since 4.0) slower fader version and that sound (and whatever process this was) went away! Not ready for prime time I think!

I am tempted to try it once more to see if maybe it was just a quirky firmware update and I may do so later in the day.

EDIT: I just tried the fast fader reboot again with the same results. I am told this is normal and expected however it's a normal I can't live with. I will again say that noise was never there for me before this. I can live with the slower version so there it will stay.

I will be setting up a system this afternoon for an event this weekend and we will be using one of the M32s (still on V3.07 of the firmware) for this. I will try and pay attention to the fader behavior and report back later today.

@KevinMaxwell Well, I finally located firmware version 3.07 myself and when I loaded it up, my nice, snappy and essentially noise free faders returned!! Yippy! NOW the question is if I reload 4.01 from here if it will return them to this fast version when I do so. At least I know how to get them back to what was my normal now. 3.08 did not, 3.11 did not. And I now know I am not crazy (well sort of know) I wil also report back.

EDIT: Loading 4.01 again puts the faders at the slower, smoother speed and the fast fader option makes them fast again but with losts of extraneous "after" noise NOT like version 3.07 at all. I made some short videos of all 3 and when I figure HOW to post them, I will.

I listened very carefully and on the M32 I was setting up (that has V3.07 on it) there was no weird noises like you were experiencing with the console running 4.01 and the faders set to fast. I agree with you that it sounds like there is a bug in the 4.01 fast fader firmware.

@KevinMaxwell or anyone else interested: Video 3 is the "new" fast fader version Again the news for anyone wanting the faders back the way they used to be prior to firmware 4.0 or 4.01 Load version 3.7 (it's still availble if you choose to include the archived version in search on the Midas page) In my case it brought back the fader speed to what it was the day I bought it. BUT 4.01 puts them right back to slow or (noisy) fast. I am choosing to use the slower faders and stay on 4.01 due to its awsomeness in other areas and until such time as the old fast and noisefree version returns. And.....just like the recent US Congressional hearings, The gentleman recognizes himself as to the solution

      https://www.dropbox.com/sh/5ru6bwfno5fcg5k/AAA9ugBcV-Se8L7YtteR35uYa?dl=0

EDIT2: I re-loaded firmware 3.7 to see what fader version it is that runs across the bottom of the screen-it appears to be fader version r/R .12 or r/R 1.2

EDIT: As an aside I noticed in this process of loading different firmware versions that if you use the console global setup page (bottom left) for updating firmware, you can have several firmware files at the root directory at once, and pick which one to load. I always made sure there was only 1 in the past as that was the specifried way to do it. FWIW

I have windows 10 64bit. I installed the driver 4.59 as well as the ASIO4All driver. I tried using Asio4all but there's no signal from the mic I plugged in. There's an option for the Asio UMC driver but when I choose it gives me the message, "Error initializing Asio driver".

I've heard through Amazon reviews that many people have connectivity issues as well as sound playback issues with this particular interface. I purchaed in one year and 3 months ago so seemingly the warranty wouldn't cover replacing it if the issue is a hardware one with the device itself.

      Hi Blake @blaked2,

ASIO4All tends to block the 4.59 ASIO driver. Uninstall ASIO4ALL and the 4.59 should work. We've had a few others that did the same thing. Also in Windows 10, make sure the microphone is not turned off in the privacy section (Win10 has a nasty habit of turning this off, which also affects the ASIO drivers).

On the computer. I use Win7 and are avoiding Win10 as long as I can. But there have been reports of this privacy setting (microphone) in Win10 that blocks the ASIO drivers.

It appears they are adding colored LEDs to new versions. Because they are easily replaceable, I will be attempting to add my own colored LEDs. I am choosing to go with the non-transparent colored 2x3x4 for personal aesthetics which resemble the original Arp Odyssey colors when not illuminated, although a lot of people prefer transparent LEDs that only light up the color it emits when turned up.. The only issue I know of with after market LEDs is that the voltage may vary by color so some may or may not work, or work well. I will keep you posted. I am hoping that Behringer will offer replacement LED kits for reasonable price. But, you can always buy after market 100pcs LEDs for under $5 with shipping.

It is version 1.2.00 build 61

    I can't see the screen, so I can't do anything like a factory reset - because I can't tell what's happening.

I'm currently facing the same issue on my unit. Suddenly only blue screen, device doesn't boot up. Downloaded Voicesupport 2, as some older internet posts suggest, but on both operating systems (Win & OSX) I get the same result: "Device in use".

Also, provided link doesn't work. Please help!
