    1. I just recently punched my X32 Compact, 1st thing I notice comes with firmware 3.12 out of the box, however, the Behringer support page only shows 3.11. Why is this?

    2. Is there a firmware revion sheet to show the changes and update features on 1 sheet. On the site, they only have on a single revision and main on the last

    3. My mix Android app Pro says it does not recognize the revision 3.12. however it does login to my x32 and it does work.

    a. You can't connect by using the connect button it does not see the mixer.

b If you search for the mixer in the app it does pick it up whereby you can click and connect to the x32

This is the only way for the XM32 Android app to connect.

I would suggest loading the 3.11 version firmware and trying. You can always load up 3.12 again at some later point. If it is a new version firmware not yet supported for some strange reason, when it becomes available, you can then easily reinstall it.

      1. Who knows what is going on anymore. The website is unbearably slow. It took me 10-15 minutes just to get to the downloads for the X32 to confirm that 3.11 actually is the most recent firmware available. A bit suspect to start shipping units with software that hasn't been made public yet if you ask me. There is AFIK no way to save 3.12 from the console before applying 3.11 if you would want to do that. Unless there are confirmed problems I would just stay on 3.12.

      2. There would normally be a release-note fopr each revision, but there is no general changelog available.

3a. Notofy the developer (dev-core.org) of MixingStation XM32 that there is a new release out. He is usually very quick to supply updates. That software often support new features in the console long before Behringer manage to produce an update for their own applications.

3b. Mixing-station normally keeps track of addres of the last console it was connected to and should provide that as a defaulty. By pushing the button "Console IP" you can specify the console address manually.

@PerHeldal @Virtue67- When I first got my X-Live card it had a similar issue. It had a firmware number that at that point didn't exist. I've also seen revision numbers in the info files that reflected firmware versions that were never released but were incorporated into a later version number. So, right, who knows what the issue is.  Also FWIW, (from a very reliable source) there will be a new firmware faily soon to allow the new 48 ch Midas DP48 to be used on both the X and M32 as well as some other new bells and whistles-maybe you have it...or its close relative.

      Hi Andre,

I just got the response back regarding firmware 3.12

"The fw 3.12 is used in production already, but is not yet on the web. It only fixes an incomplete update of the scribble strip lcd after scene recall on M32/M32R depending on the fader board firmware. It does not add any new features and is completely irrelevant to X32 series."

So you can either downgrade to 3.11 or use the latest update of Mixing Station which will work with 3.12.

Hello Audio Gentlemen! I'm trying to finish updating my X32 and Drivers for Win10. I successfully updated my firmware on the X32 console. It is now running Firmware 3.11.

I successfully updated my X-USB drivers to Version 4.59.

But I cannot get the XUSBAudioDfu to update from 0.10 to 0.11... And because of this, the ASIO driver isnt running. Short of setting my computer and console on fire, I have tried everything. So what's going on, and how can I fix this?? I have attached the error message that I keep getting.x32 update drivers error.jpg

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, and thank you for your time!

    -David

P.S. I also posted this in the Recording Section, but I think that this spot might be the best place to get a real answer, yes?

@DavidVelezI have never updated the usb firmware and am not sure you need to. I would uninstall the drivers and reinstall them and call it a day. I use the latest drivers for win10 without issues (and without firmware update) Perhaps I should update the firmware, not saying you shouldn't or can't-just saying I have not and do not have any issues of which I'm aware.

This is the first time that they've asked us to update the DFU (which I'm assuming is the USB firmware?) I was eager to update because I was having a problem with Sonarworks, which is now fixed, but my ASIO audio drivers would randomly go silent for literally no reason whatsoever. So it would be really nice is Behringer would get their poop together and code this update correctly. Does the almighty @Paul_Vannatto or @RexBeckett have any brilliant solutions? One guy using a UMC got it to work by installing the 4.59 drivers in c:\Program Files\(x86)\Behringer instead of c:\Program Files\Behringer      and of course I tried that and it didnt work, boo.

I don't have the appropriate hardware to check this out, David, but let us reach out to @JanDuwe .

Jan, this problem has been reported on X18, XR18 and X32 (X-USB). It appears that the process for updating the firmware on the USB interface, included in the V4.59 driver package, is failing for several users. Can you help us to understand how to troubleshoot and fix this, please?

There are other reports of apparently the same issue in this thread.

      Dear @RexBeckett and @DavidVelez
Thanks for bringing this up. We had received a similar question 4 weeks ago, already. We couldn't reproduce the issue on any of our test machines yet, even though technically very similar. Hence, we had involved the driver vendor, Thesycon, who are very competent and supportive. Having analyzed the two different error messages and log files, they suspected a timing issue on that specific system. We are at it and will inform you, once the root cause is identified. In the mean time you may consider just using another pc for updating the card, since it is a one-time process anyway.
Fyi, the new X-USB card firmware update was mainly done for improving consistency of WDM on various systems, for supporting non-ASIO media-player applications. It is no disadvantage using the previous card firmware for ASIO multi-track recording, however.

      Hope that helps,
      Jan

@JanDuwe If I don't upgrade the X-USB card firmware, there's a little note on my X-USB Control Panel that says "ASIO Inactive." But I'd happily do any debugging or troubleshooting that you suggest!

I've just bought the behringer UMC22 as it was advertised to be good value for money, there is however an issue that has been highlighted on an Amazon review. Inst 2 doesn't work after setting up.

I'm using the interface with guitar rig 5 and it works a charm if i plug the guitar into Line 1, but when I plug into inst 2 i get a signal i.e the green signal light flashes but no audio at all. this hjas been raised on Amazon after I checked some of the reviews, and aledgedly behringer are aware of this issue.

Any ideas for a fix as I'm on the verge of sending this back for a refund if I can't get it working as it should.

I can use software monitoring also.

      2 ways for that:

      1.don't install asio4all,and use the WDM drivers,that Windows auto-detects.

      2.Google for these drivers:

      BEHRINGER_2902_WIN32_2.8.40

      or

      BEHRINGER_2902_X64_2.8.40

      Here's a video explaination,with download links:

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRmnDkS3Wzo&t=171s

This is the prefered way,in my opinion.

      Goodluck!

      Edit:

Don't use the old behringer drivers, which I mentioned as the second way. They are full of trouble!

      Use WDM or ASIO4All

Actually I am downloading an earlier version of Synthtool from Nov. 8. Perhaps if I deleted the current version & installed that, it would help me overwrite the upgrade and go back to version 1.0.6.

Today I got this message from George Hernandez at Music Tribe:

"I have received an update from the developers on the clock division issue. Apparently many users have complained this was too difficult to use so it was decided it will not be returning. I don't agree this is the best course of action but I'm told the manuals will be updated to reflect this."

What??? The Tempo Knob is too difficult to use?? Or was he talking about that procedure in the Manual, where you press "shift, Hold, *8" etc. I wrote back & asked him to clarify.
He also said he could send me a sysex of the downgrade. That's nice, but as a former Ableton user, I'm not too well versed in old-fashioned things like sysex and MIDI Ox.
Give me back my Tempo Knob that every synth should have, or I will be officially Un-Craved.

Today I succeeded in installing the Firmware Downgrade to version 1.0.6. I used a freeware called MIDI OX to pass the sysex file of the downgrade. Happily, I was successful and now that I have the tempo knob back, I'm happy & will keep my Crave!

If anyone doesn't have a programming background & doesnt know how to use MIDI OX, I created a pdf file describing the process. It's not too difficult but old programs are a little awkward with their phrasing. Standard disclaimer, use at own risk, and I don't think MIDI Ox works with Mac.

      Good luck!

Well there seems to be a BIG bug or something with the new M32 fader speed! I loaded up 4.01 and went right to the config page/fast fader checkbox area to see if I could get my mixer fader speed back the way it was prior to updating to V4. I confirmed I wanted that 'fast fader' option and....it reboots and it did change BUT. It is WAY different than before. Now the faders "snap" in to place (kind of like it used to) but there is this very worrisome fader motor "after spin" sound (more than just sound) that occurs. (a digital mixer's version of grinding gears) I can tell you 100% this never existed before. I went right back to the (since 4.0) slower fader version and that sound (and whatever process this was) went away! Not ready for prime time I think!

      Hi @GaryHiggins

The big bug you mentionned is not a bug, fast faders have always induced this "afterspin" sound.
This is due to the faster speed of the faders, somehow overshooting the target position and fine tuning the end position for a short period of time. As this fine tuning also has the faster speed, it induces this little noise.

The FW 3.07 that had Fast Faders has the exact same speed, and the exact same little afterspin sound.

On the other hand, the sound of the fader sliding is way louder
If this little sound worries you, I suggest you stick to the slower fader speed

I hope this helped clarify the root of the sound

      Thanks for reaching out

@adam_nowak I NEVER had that sound before this firmware update, I have updated every firmware version along the way. Anyone who did and found it would have sent their mixer back for repair. I already went back to the slower speed (I can live with it no problem), I don't recall hearing about fader speed being an option in 3.07, I missed that.

EDIT f/u....I made some short videos of the 3 states of fader speed, 3.07, 4.01 stock and 4.01 with "fast faders" There is a big difference between 3.07 and 4.01/fast fader with regard to that afterspin noise-not there at all in 3.07

      Hi Gary
Thanks for the videos, its a good help

After a talk with the mastemind behind the x32 series, I got more insight to the problem.
At some point in production time, the model of the faders got changed, and they had way different motor/friction characteristics. This created two possible faderboard firmwares for the M32(R) series, as some had the old faderboards, some had the newer ones. This had to be corrected and handled on the fw side. At the time, everyone had fast faders still. But :
      The old faders had troubles with the newer faderboard fw, causing dropouts, and the fader was just stopping midway;
The new ones had also issues with the old faderboard fw, causing those noisy oscillation.

The solution was to slow down all the faderboards to have less troubles.

Now that everyone complained about the "forced" slow faders (it always kinda was, but a workaround existed), we decided to put back those old faderboard fw back. To him, this should have never been an option, at least not named like that (thus the "V1 faders" in fw 4.00).

I agree that this should be more precise, I think Midas will do some official statement soon.
I will do my best to try to minimize the issue.
Meanwhile I guess you should stick to slow faders indeed...

Hope this helped clarify the fadergate
      Best regards

      Hi FrancoFreda,

We are currently working on an update for the X32Edit Ipad app, but it will take quite some time ...
The actual app still works with the 4.00 firmware, but lacks the added features like User Slot assignments
You can still access those features using the x32 rack's screen
Dont forget to backup all your data before updating, and take notes of your settings (ip adress, preferences) as those will be reset

      Best regards

It depends on your definition of compatible. I've been using the old version with 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2 since they were released. Mixing works great. Routing doesn't. When I'm playing and mixing (at the same time), it's my go to app. That being said, Mixing Station is completely compatible and always up-to-date. It's well worth a few dollars.

        - DP48/HUB4 remote configuration support

        - DP48 setup page with preset library

        - send pan optionally follows LR pan function

        - full backup export/restore function

        - new keyboard with channel name suggestions/history and keyboard layouts

        - X32Core/M32C: Export Show function

        - M32/M32R: V.1 Fader option (forces update of faderboards, requires reboot)

@nicholi I think the word option here is meant more like 'feature'...not really a user option or choice, in other words updating the faders for the Midas boards is part of the update period, it comes with the package, no matter...BUT this is only my opinion. I had the same experience and saw no option to update or not update the faders.

      Hi Gary,

Hmm.  I am not at the board now but under System there is an option to enable or dsable the "feature".  The mixer will reboot.  It does not change change the fader speed howwever from what I can tell.  So I am trying to figure out if it should be enable or not and what is the benefit.  I guess the questions should be.  What is V.1 Fader? What versions of the boards does this affect M32 with black buttons or rubber?

@nicholi Yes I did the same thing. I enabled V.1 Fader option and I thought it would change the speed but it did not. Still trying to figure out what it does, and if you can change the back to original speed. Also, I’m thinking they changed the speed to save the motors so they last longer.

    Hello,

I'm just back from the 36th chaos communication congress, where we had the Behringer Wing with firmware version 1.01 in use for the chaos-west stage.

This was some type of "corporate event" from a technical perspective. The desk was running non-stop for about 10 days, with 3 different operators in shifts. We have been using a Midas DL32 as a stagebox and a KT DN-9650 as a Dante bridge with a few Dante devices at FOH, mainly for the broadcast setup.

My overall first impression: You did an amazing job with this console. I'm just blown away. I will place my order next week for my own, private console.

Some thoughts while using, which stood out and I would love if you can improve on those:

    1. The console did suddenly reboot/crash once at the event. This reboot lasted ~5 seconds and audio was interrupted in the meantime. After the reboot I lost about 30 seconds of recent changes to channels, etc. This is wonderful. Crashes should never happen, but this is really a good recovery time. Good job.
    2. There seems to be a bug with the mute group labeling. When I change the name of a mute group, this is not reflected in the display section above the encoder wheel until I press one of the mute buttons there. Not a big issue at all.
    3. If I work with a stereo source, I need to be able to flip the polarity on a single channel. We had a DJ set playing at night, where somewhere in the DJ setup there was a polarity flip. As we worked with a stereo source, we could not easily fix this without interrupting signal. I went ahead and duplicated the signal via dante to two new inputs, and ran the DJ set using two new mono sources and switched over while they did a buildup/drop. This was very stressful.
    4. The reset button for channelstrip sections is way too hidden. As far as I could see this works via the utility menu, which I only noticed on day 4 or so.
    5. Copying channels works fine, took me just a few seconds to understand the concept. I would love to be able to select multiple channels as a target.
    6. The distinction between 8 premium-fx/standard-fx and 8 standard-fx was a bit unclear in the fx overview. maybe that can be highlighted a bit more.
    7. Routing a regular FX bus is pretty confusing. As this was more of a corporate event it was not a deal-breaker and i did not spend much time on it, but I could not immediately see how I can do that.
      1. If I should just use one of the busses, the inability to send the output of one bus to another bus is a deal-breaker in that regard (i.e. send some reverb to the singers monitor).
      2. I saw a few FX returns in the routing menu, but could not figure out where they came from.
    8. The faders are slow. Very slow.
    9. I heavily missed a view of the fader level on the displays above a fader. I know that Yamaha desks do this. This is super helpful when re-setting a level.
    10. The band solo function is super helpful.
    11. The RTA overlay on stereo sources seem to display a mono sum. I would love to be able to switch to a "double" overlay, one for each channel with some offset. Not sure if this was possible, didn't look for it actively. This would have helped to debug the flipped polarity problem I mentioned earlier.
    12. The custom knob/button area is not powerful enough. I could not see how to place the delay time tap button there for example.

This is just a list of quite negative things - please regard every feature not listed here as great/amazing. The desk is really wonderful and I love it. Of course we are still somewhat "beta-testing" this, as version 1.01 is pretty early, but I'm looking forward to some improvements to the areas I listed.

Oh, one thing I forgot: Is it not possible to playback audio files from a USB stick? Please add this feature ASAP. We had to have a separate laptop playing break music via an analog signal, which was quite annoying.

Hi Jan, for me it´s the same, it´s a bit confusing/not well thought out........

Solution would be to think about the AUX Channels as FX returns, starting from there You have 2 options:

      1. You can use the FX Plugin in the bus, then route its  output to the input of an AUX channel

      2. You just use the bus output routed to the AUX channel and use its Plugin slot for the effect.

The difference in the first case would be, that you could use the same FX for mixing to the PA by routing them also to the Master, while you could use the AUX input eq + faders as POST monitor sound + level controls, which sometimes makes handling the Artist much easier ........

One question concerning the self-forced reboot:

Did this occur while you worked in the FX racks?

Maybe this would be helpful for the guys, as i also experienced a reboot, which is not exactly funny during a show.

Still i find the boot time amazing, i measured 13 secs from power on.

This is even fastet than yamaha, an the console seems to sound better than some if its competitors that cost a tenfold sum..........

They are working on it. Before 1.01 firmware, the USB stick did not even have the preset/snapshot save/load feature. Please understand that the developers have been given a much needed break between Christmas and New Years. Robert, Patrick and I will be reporting everything we read here to the developers.

@jankoppe1 @earcondition What kind of cable were you using for stagebox? Just curious if using shielded cat5/6 with ethercons or not.

Hi Gary, i´m using a CAT6e 70 meters rugged cable with Neutrik Ethercons, but i was also able to use a shaggy CAT5 in-house installed 40 meters cable without problems, so i could leave fast after the show ...

I have an RMA for an M32. Have any of you found a shipping box for your console, and if so, where?
