    Hello,

I received the email with a broken link so i can't download and activate the free gift polytune plugin (i have bought polytune clip black here in Italy).  I can't understand how to reach the customer service to ask my questions on the tuner clip, and surfing on this tc electronic website is a real maze , between pages that are not displayed correcty on Mozilla Firefox (now i am on MS Edge) and some broken links, included the download link for that plugin.

    Someone can help me?
    Dimitri

edit:  i am experiencing some difficulty to stabilize the tuning on low E of guitar string particularly in strobe mode : I like that mode,  i can get easily an optimal  balance of the strobe , the correct tuning of all the others strings, but it seems to be harder with the Low  E... also with minimal rotations of the tuning peg it tends to go a little flat or sharp (appears first line of red leds)

update :  the problems are solved, i received answer on messenger chat  of TC Electronic Facebook page.

Plethora X5 could seriously simplify my rig without compromising on the sound quality. But before ordering one I have a couple of questions.

    1. Can I use the MIDI-pedal on my my MIDI control board to use it as an expression pedal for  Plethora X5?

    2. I will use mine in stereo, but I don't always need or want stereo sounds. Is it possible to program to mute the the second output channel when using certain "pedal boards". E.g a song start with a big stereo intro, but when the verse start I change "pedal board" to smaller sounding one in mono which is muting my second guitar amp.

    3. The harmonizer in G Major 2 is great and the best I have tried (even better than my Eventide PF). Is Plethora X5's intelligent pitch shifter as good as the one in GM2?

    4. Can the output volume be set individualy for each "pedal board"? E.g. to get different output levels between rhythm playing, solo and intros.

    5. Will it be possible to create complete pedalboards on a Mac/PC?

    Thanks.

      Hi Carl,

      1) No you cannot use and external Expr pedal via MIDI at this point. However, you can connect an expression pedal directly to PX5 expr input and program the expression pedal to control up to 3 parameters per pedal, each with its own parameter value curve. This way you can control parametes across pedals, which is very nifty..

Eg map it to FX level with recursive curve to crossfade between pedals etc...

For more realtime controlk of FX paramter you can use the MASH switch that each FX slot got and that allows you to control up to 3 more parameters per pedal/Toneprint ( MASH is a pressure sensor build into the footswitches, so you get expression functionality build-in to every pedal!)

      2) No, you cannot mute individual outputs on a per patch basis. The unit has jack sense, so if only mono output is connected FX signals are summed.

      3) Plethora has the Quitessence Harmonizer included, which sounds much better than the old "Wave mechanix" one...

      4) No, there is no global FX volume and like a real pedalboard the overall outåput level depends on the settings of the ndividual pedals used. However, the Expression pedal can be set to work as a volume pedal, so you can control the output level per pedal (or for all pedals) via connected Exp pedal.

      5) The Toneprint app is available for MAC and PC and allows the editing and transfer of either artist toneprints or your custom pedal  toneprint creations to the Plethora.

We are also currently working on a board manager that will be part of the Toneprint app for Plethora...

here is an early Ui draft (may/will  be subject to change!)

      Thank you TC-Mike @T ,

      1. OK, I can live with that and hope for future MIDI expression pedal support.

      2. I understand. But the loop is in mono, perhaps I can place the loop last in the chain and use that as a separate mono output for my main amp...? Please advice.

      3. Sound great.

      4. Do all the "pedals" have programable output level? Then that would be good enough for me. Any way to be able to program the volume of a pedal board would be good enough.

      5. The "Board Manager" will be a major time saver. It owuld be great to build all the boards from the TV sofa (or the bathroom... ).

BTW a simple looper would be great when programming and fine tuning sounds. I have a Ditto now to be able to record a guitar part and then my hands free to turning then knobs. Not having a separate Ditto on the physical board would simplify the build and the powering of the board even further.

Many thanks for the prompt response. I am now very close to ordering one...

      1) i'll pass this on. What other Midi related features would you want/need?

      2) Yes, you can insert Loop after the 5th slot at the end to sum to mono, but signal will still be played out via both outputs!

      4) all except Noise Gate.

      5) you populate the board via the app and selecting slots on the Plethora . Board manager will be aseperate module tied in to the app/editor workflow..

A simple Looper is planned for one of the next firmware updates as well

      Best regards,

And when will this be done for Behringer, Midas (and all others). Special for M/X32 users it is still a big mess. Can't still find anything anymore and this is my first comeback visit since months because of this mess. A lot of old forum users are already gone and proberly never return. This was really a bad and stupid way to go while the real old forum concept works.

Hey TC...  are there any plans to release a firmware update that will allow assigning one of the stereo inputs of accept 1/4" external tap tempo, a la the single-size Flashback 2?

      TC-Mike

      Hi Nicholas,

no, this won't happen as the Flashback 2 X4 has a dedicated Tap tempo switch that you can access at any time without loosing true stereo operation. Via Toneprint you can set wether Tap tempo should work globally for all settings including presets.

Furthermore, tap tempo can also be remote controlled via Midi CC data.

P.s. our Flashback 2 pedal just got a firmware update, where you can use the built in footswitch to tap tempo if MASH is disabled in the editor, so you also can get true stereo delay with tap tempo without sacrificing the stereo input for tap pedal.

Best regards from the TC tribers,

Can you choose if effects from the plethora go to the front of the amp or through the effects Loop? Can you do both? I prefer to have delay and Reverb in the loop wow all my modulation effects are in the front of the amp

Yup, you can achieve this by plugging it in with the 4 cable method:

      Guitar -> Plethora in;

      Plethora FX Loop send -> Amp;

      Amp Fx Loop send -> Plethora Fx Loop return;

Plethora out -> Amp Fx Loop return.

Then on each Plethora board you can choose where in the internal FX chain you'd like your loop to be inserted, effectively keeping some effects before the amp's input, and the rest in the amp's loop.

Hello, I'm interested in running an x5 using four cable method, but I'm wondering how this will work in stereo. I understand that the fx loop is mono, so can it still work with the device being used in stereo? It'd be really cool if I could apply a preamp to only one half of my tone for example.

      • May 21, 2020
    • Shredacuda
      macfilipe

       Hi @Fretsy ,

The serial nature of the Plethora's loop means that every effect placed before it sums to mono, and every effect after it can be used in stereo - if you use both outputs. So the four cable method (more like five or six, in this situation) will still work, but all of your signal will be running through the Plethora's FX loop if you use a traditional four cable method type approach such as:

Guitar --> Plethora in ... Plethora Fx send --> Amp in ... Amp Fx send --> Plethora Fx return ... Plethora out L + out R

There isn't currently a way of splitting the signal inside the Plethora and running the Fx Loop only on one side, so to be able to apply the preamp only to half your signal, you'd have to split your signal before the Plethora, run one side through it with the above schematic, run the other side dry or with whatever other external processing you'd like, then join both back with another stereo pedal or mixer - but (and this is a strong one) you would most likely run into phasing issues due to the difference in processing times between the dry side and the Plethora side...

So as it stands, we are out of luck for 64 bit support in Catalina. A driver may or may not ever come.

So, what about running a virtual machine with Mojave or older to run the control panel and interface? Any luck there?

      Hi Jacob ( @KingCornWallis ),

Welcome to the community.  Why not just stay on Mojave?  I have numerous 32-bit tools that don't (yet) have 64-bit replacements so I have no intention of ever upgrading unless those tools become available.  Now, I understand if you have to purchase a new computer that only comes with Catalina but why install an upgrade that knowingly breaks a working system?

That being said, I've run macOS VMs with limited success.  Limited in that any specialty hardware that required an underlying driver (KEXT) from the host OS wouldn't work in the VM.  You may get better results with ESXi but I wouldn't think you'd e able to get it to work with Catalina as the host OS using Workstation.

Have you tried contacting TCH to see if they have any plans to re-compile for 64-bit?

      Ken

Simple question really... I already have a G-Force which has good delays, however I have this urge to buy a D-Two... Is there any benefit in buying a D-two if I already have a G-force? are the delays any better?

I play in a Floyd Tribute, and like the idea of running one delay into another (Run Like Hell for example was originally done like that, I currently have the G-Force set up with a dual delay with two different delay times to recreate Run Like Hell)

the D-Two has some delay types the G-force doesn't have, most notable the Rhythm Tap multi tap delay, but you are already well stocked with your existing G-Force and it's possibilities.

If you want to expand on the G-Force delay sounds you might also consider our Flashback 2 pedal instead which has TC latest algos like  proper Tape and Analog BBD Delay emulations , Crystal delays (Shimmer type delay with an Octaver up in the feedback path) + Modulated delay where you can choose between Chorus, Flanger and Vibrato modulations on the delay repeats+ MASH technology, which is a pressure sensor build into the foot switch for realtime mangling of FX parameters.

Further more you can customise you own delays via the Toneprint editor and program which parameters the potmeters or the MASH switch should control.. (including parameter ranges and control of up to 3 parameters at the same time.

And it also has a Looper build in...(20 seconds stereo, 40 seconds mono recording time)

More infos can be found here:
      https://www.tcelectronic.com/Categories/Tcelectronic/Guitar/Stompboxes/FLASHBACK-2-DELAY/p/P0CKR#googtrans(en|en)

Here is a screenshot of the editor to give you and idea of the parameters you can tweak:

      Tape delay:
      fb2 editor example tape echo.PNG

In the mapping window of the editor you can customise what parameters the pots should control and then store your custom toneprints in the pedal:

fb2 editor custom mapping of potmeters.PNG

You can also just use the toneprint library of our many artist toneprints giving you a wide variety of great delay and echo tones ranging to snappy Slap back delays to long ambient delays with a max delaytime of up to 7! seconds in pristine quality.

Hope this help and let me know if you have further questions.

      Hi Mike,

The Flashback 2 looks good, and the fact it can reproduce a Binsen is very interesting to me. There is one issue, although it can store 3 user "patches" there's no way of recalling these remotely via midi..... Is this something that will maybe looked into as an update in the future? All my pedals are off the floor in a pedal draw in my rack, and therefore a pedal like the Flashback 2 is great, but not much use if I can't select between the 3 stored user delays.

I could ustilise it as just a Binsen clone, but i feel I wouldn't be getting the full use out of it, which it deserves.

      Hi Andy,

remote selection of settings  is not possible to implement with the FB2  . it is theoretically possible to do USB midi control, but that doesn't make too much sense in a pedalboard setting,as you'll need a laptop and DAW to send Midi commands .  If features like presets on top of Toneprint slots + full midi implementation (midi sync + remote control of potmeters) are important, then i'm happy to report we already looked into this, but this is all i can say at this point of time unfortunately.

When I engage the Mash the reverb effect disappears. The reverb is ok with my foot off the Mash, but the effect is removed as I press down.

This happens on ALL reverb types, irrespective of how I set level, decay or tone.

A previous poster mentioned changing a DIP switch under the cover. This appears to work but it kills the dry signal i.e. the Kill-dry dip switch does what is says it will do!

I want the Mash to function correctly and also have the dry signal present.

There does not appear to be any firmware update available for the HoF2.

Will someone from TC-Electronic please respond to this problem? The pedal does not work as advertised.

      Hi Hy-Man

This sound very odd, not something we would want the pedal to do, and definitely not something the pedal should do.

Have you tried setting up a TonePrint for the pedal in one of the TonePrint slots, and checked if the problem also occurs there?

With a TonePrint you can program the MASH to control any parameter you want, that way, you can check different parameters on if they also just dissapear when you MASH.

You might want to check what output you are using. Some MASH effects only affect one channel while in stereo mode. The dip switches should be set to KILL DRY OFF and TRUE BYPASS from the factory.

      Hope this helps

How do I get refund for the Finalizer App? I bought this 2 weeks ago, it did not work from day 1 and I have been in contact with the TC Electronics team since then to fix it with no success. I have asked them multiple times about a refund and have been ignored.

Good luck with that. TC Electronic is the worse company to deal with. They have NO customer support. I bought Finalizer and didn't receive my email with the serial number. I am so pissed off.

If you get any issues as a small customer with TC electronics, forget it, it's like dealing with a crook or a drug dealer.  Once they got your money they make sure reaching out to them is impossible, yet acting like they have some form of customer support.

You want an example of how low TC electronic is, what and the bunch of crooks they are? Go on their support page.  They have the guts to put pictures of support people with a smile on their face and a headset as if they have a proper customer support team and a call center. They don't. it's all smoke and mirrors.

I finally got it to work in my system...sort of!  The first I learned from TC Electronic support is that you must use it with an ASIO sound driver.  Okay, so I opened it in a different computer with ASIO and I have it authorized through iLok...fine!  And I got it to open, take a master, manipulate it and so on.  I also put in several reference track and...voila!  I can compare my track to pro released tracks!  However, I never got an answer from support re: the Finalizer.exe (the executable file) doesn't install the program into my Windows 10 operating system, it just opens directly from the folder where it sits on my C drive.  This can't be right because when I go to save as a project, it saves the name I gave in the folder I sent it to, however, there's no file extension assigned to it.  And I have no clue what file extension it should have.  Windows can't open it without a file extension.  That's why it's not right...the fact that it opens directly from the folder withought installing to the operating system...we're missing something here.

Will someone please confirm that this is the problem with this software...IT DOESN'T INSTALL INTO THE OPERATING SYSTEM...IT JUST OPENS DIRECTLY FROM THE FOLDER!  SO I CAN'T SAVE A PROJECT BECAUSE IT DOESN'T ASSIGN YOUR FILE AN EXTENSION!

Now that I more or less figured out how it works (I read through much of the manual) I would love to have actually save a project so I can go back and keep refining my master.

WILL SOMEONE AT TC ELECTRONIC PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE OR RETURN OUR MONEY...100 HARD-EARNED AMERICAN DOLLARS!

      Thanks,

      DrMove
