I just got a Behringer Neutron yesterday, and it seems like the FREQ MOD IN (VCF cutoff control) has no effect. Before I go looking into repair, is there anything anyone can think of that I might be messing up to make me THINK it's broken (e.g., some normalled connection that needs to be overridden by patching)?

I first tried OSC2 OUT -> ATT1 IN -> FREQ MOD IN and raised the ATT1 knob, which I expected to bring some noise, then tried some simpler LFO patching and again heard no effect.

Doh! Answered my own question this morning: I had MOD DEPTH all the way down. FREQ MOD is working fine, and I now know I don't need to use up an attenuator on it, thanks to MOD DEPTH.

    Hello, newbie here...

Do any members know if the FCV100 is compatible with Yamaha's Tyros5. I only want to use it as a volume control.

Is there a library of Deepmind 12 patches and import files?

I'm wanting to find classic synth sounds, but haven't found a place where you can find them online.

Check out our "Breaking News" article on Uli Behringer and how he's revolutionized the synth world:  ( )  While you're there, be sure to CAST your VOTE on WHICH Behringer Synth ( s ) you'd like to see featured in "The Synthesist" ( -a new sci-fi movie slated to begin production in 2020' ).

    Hello everybody!

Quick intro: Lockdown meant I rebooted an old tech blog I started in 2006 or so, it's been neglected a long time. I'm a professional tech reviewer/writer - have been for almost three decades - and love electronic music. The site was started to let me put all the nerdy/retro things I couldn't publish in magazines, 'cause of space or audience, but I'm now using it more for music-related things.

As a writer, I'd been asked to do some SEO-style guides for a music shop. I hate SEO - I like content and figure Google will figure it out if it's good. But, when they ended up not really knowing how to use what I'd written to support their sales, I figured I'd repurpose it for my reboot.

    Behringer related: This big roundup/comparison:

Ultimately, I'd like to run full reviews of these synths at some stage, but in the meantime this is trying to be the guide I wanted when last agonising over how to spend £300 on a synth.

Some of the specs aren't clear from manuals and so forth - so if anyone with more experience of the synths wants to set me straight, please, do!

Thomann has photos of the Odyssey with multi colored LEDs.  Is this something that is coming?  Or was that just a special?  Because I want to buy one with colored LEDs.  I'll wait if I have to.

It appears they are adding colored LEDs to new versions. Because they are easily replaceable, I will be attempting to add my own colored LEDs. I am choosing to go with the non-transparent colored 2x3x4 for personal aesthetics which resemble the original Arp Odyssey colors when not illuminated, although a lot of people prefer transparent LEDs that only light up the color it emits when turned up.. The only issue I know of with after market LEDs is that the voltage may vary by color so some may or may not work, or work well. I will keep you posted. I am hoping that Behringer will offer replacement LED kits for reasonable price. But, you can always buy after market 100pcs LEDs for under $5 with shipping.

I want to connect the Model D to the Deepmind 12, the Model D should only do the lower notes (bass) when playing the Deepmind - is this possible?

I don't have the Deepmind 12, but I believe the default for the Model D is for low note priority

Not without extra gear. You will need something like a master keyboard controller or one of the better MIDI patchbays to do that. Quasimidi Turbo Volcon D can do that, MIDITemp patchbays too, and I think the old MOTU MTPII and later may have a similar feature - i have to look that up.

Note limit or zones are the keywords.

I've had my DeepMind 6 for just over 2 months. Yesterday a single white line appeared across the LCD display screen. Anyone else had this problem ?
