As soon as you click the update button the USB device is disconnected and the update progress hangs at 0%.

When you turn the synth off and on again, and restart the Synth Tool, you get an error message saying that the synth is in use by another DAW - which isn't true. After restarting the computer you can repeat the procedure.

Tested with Odyssey and VC340. My Pro 1 and K-2 are up-to-date, but I would bet that it is the same with them.

And, for ficks sake...PLEASE get rid of the device autoselect. If you own more than one Behringer synth, you always have to turn off the others if you want to connect to a specific one, which is pretty annoying.

      Thanks for your reply.

In the meantime it looked like the attempts to update those two synths bricked them.

The Odyssey disappeared from the device list in the device manager, turning off and on, using another USB cable, using another USB port didn't help, it simply wasn't recognized any more. The VC340 stopped making any sound, you could press any key you want. Was about to contact my retailer.

I remembered the procedure to get the Neutron update running - just again and again install that special USB driver, reboot and replug and turning off and on.

After an hour it finally worked. Despite just doing the same things over and over again.

Behringer hardware is really great quality. The software, until the Deepmind, was too. But everything since then has been annoying as hell. They are really in need of some new developers.

      This sounds familiar.

Didnt I write at another place to check your USB installations with USB Deview, because of the device limit on Windows - and I assume you use that platform, since you said nothing else. There may be some driver interference as well.

This is not a problem of the developers but of Microsoft still having that stupid USB device limit in there, that is filled up easily because even if you plug the same device to another port a new registry entry is made.

The HOLD function will no longer work for me as of today.  It used to work!!  Now it won't sustain anything whether I use my sustain pedal or just press the button!  I have firmware 1.1.2

anyone know how to fix this?

Are you talking about the arpeggiator HOLD function?

HOLD - When you press and hold the TAP/HOLD switch for more than 1 second, the switch is illuminated and HOLD mode is active. In this mode when you press any key it will be held on and the ARPEGGIATOR will continue playing.

    Hi there,

i am new to the community, but not new to synths and musical instruments - I do that since the early 80s

Got my Crave these days and I really like it, but as an early adopter, you always run into bugs and oddities.

Since I dont know if opening a ticket is the way to go for reporting bugs (the system is not suited for that), I will post my findings here, since this is the manufactureres board someone sould read that and take it to the developers, which seem to be Rob and Pete in Manchester, really nice guys!

    However, here are my findings:

Quickstart Guide, german section: typo on page 18, upper right corner, the crave is twice called „crate“. Well, some kind of disrespectful

Quickstart Guide: Page 42, Tempo Receive Modes. Should be named Sync Modes.

Option 3 says "DIN Sync". This is confusing, since this is a fixed term and means a connectivity that the Crave does not have (pre-MIDI sync on Roland gear), it should be named MIDI sync, because thats what it is.

Hint1: If set to this mode and a clock is detected, you can adjust the scale with the tempo knob, the location LEDs work as a meter for that.

Hint2: If there was a external clock and now you like to start the sequencer on its own, you have to press play twice to get it on its own clock.

BUG: In Tempo Receive Mode 1, CV/Gate, it still receives MIDI Start/Stop, should only work in option 3

LFO used as VCO does not track octaves correctly, I hope this can be adjusted by a trimpot, but unlike on the VCO, there is no hole in the top case at that location

Synth tool V1.3.1 does not include Crave, it did in 1.2 and was removed. I hope there will be an update, since Pro-1 is also missing.

      Update:

Synth Tool V2 does work with the Crave now, and it has a firmware update: 1.06.

This new firmware seems to alter the swing factor, so If your sequnces sound funny, adjust SWING and store them again.

LFO is still useless as second VCO since it does not track in clean octaves. Maybe this has to be adjusted via trimpot.

Attack time zero causes random click noises, was not fixed with 1.06, reported that via ticket now. Increasing Attack time lets the clicks disappear.

    Hi there!

...still a noise leaking from mix knob (even turned full left) unless you put a free cable into ext audio....

That s not an acceptable solution, as we lose the use of noise....

Is there something to wait? Should we all return the unit in warranty, at our cost?

    An answer, for once?

    Thanks

Hi. If I connect my new MS 101 to my behringer 6 channel mixer using a mono jack output cable to twin left right stereo input on my mixer I get really bad feedback coming though the speakers. If I switch the cable to mono Jack out to mono Jack in on the mixer its completely fine. I have tried different cables and each time if I use a mono to stereo its gets really loud feedback. Does this sound like a faulty unit? Thanks.

I don't know for sure, but if the MS 101 output is mono, using a mono to stereo adapter cable will not yield desireable results. This is why most mixers and/or amplifiers have a "left/mono input. You cannot get stereo from a mono source. Most older synths (Minimoog, ARP Odyssey, etc) were mono.

Just got the Pro-1 and it sounds amazing. I would like to sync its internal sequencer with some MIDI gear, and it does respond to clock, which is great, but it doesn't seem to respond to stop/start, which makes it nearly useless, because there's no way to get the sequence to line up perfectly with another device. If I hit play on my Electribe, it triggers my other pattern based gear to start playing, but the Pro-1 is free-running, so the beats don't line up perfectly. I have to flip the sequencer on/off switch on the Pro-1 and even then it's nearly impossible to get it bang on the money. Am I missing something?

From what i see after a few hours, you can sync the internal arp only using an external CV signal clock

I recently just got my deepmind 12 and when i select the 'chord' button, the screen shows no 'record' feature. it instead only shows, 'armed' and when i play a chord, the screen is stuck on 'learning'.  selecting a 'trigger' never shows up as an option. similar situation in poly chord. I can only see an 'exit | rec |wizard | bank' and then same as above occurs. i play a chord, and it is stuck on learning.  any idea how i can fix this?

I got exactly the same problem with my DeepMind 12 - did you find any solution for it?

ok, my problem was a midi loop, my DAW sent the same chord I played - back to my DeepMind 12 bcoz I was in Midi Recording Mode. So if anybody has the same problem, try that out first!

In the previous firmware when the crave receives an external clock and the sequencer started  the knob time  worked as a clock divider and as my mother 32 does. Unfortunately from the new it does not work and so the steps of the sequencer are always at 1/16 resolution. The swing always works with the shift always on the knob time. Is a momentary bug ? Will be fix ? Another thing is the time LED which remains fixed even when set as internal clock, it starts pulsing only when the sequencer is in start

    Thx Nicola

Before the firmware update everything worked just fine via "DIN Sync".

The crave was synced to my DAW via MIDI and if I started crave via it's own start/stop button it also worked but with free tempo.

Now, as also stated in the "Update Log" the fuction of the tempo knob to controll the MIDI clock into subdivisions, got removed.

Please put the feature back in! Without it the CRAVE is useless for me.

Also now the sequencer seemingly does what it wants. It's completely out of time in relation to my DAW. The swing seems to be always on and if you turn the swing to hard left (1), the tempo doubles.

And now you have to decide if you want it to be 100% controlled via MIDI or 100% internal clock. So now I can't start the sequencer via the start/stop on the CRAVE if it's set to MIDI in the software.

So right now the crave is basically useless. None of the new features are improvements. Please fix this. And please take at least the option to control the MIDI clock via the tempo knob back in.

      Best Regards

      Freddy

    Hello all,

I looked around on the internet and on Behringer's site (updates, Manual etc) but can't really find any MIDI CC implementation chart. I wanted to try to get Bitwig (with all of its wonderful modulation tricks) to control the Neutron in whatever way it can. Thanks for any help and I am sorry if there is a chart and I have completely missed it!

The only Midi CC is to set the assignable output to Modulation wheel which is Midi CC 01

but you can use anything that puts out CC01 not just the mod wheel

Alternatively something along the lines of  the Analogue Systems RS-140 MIDI/CV Converter may be ideal for your needs.

    Hi All

I seem to be having a few issues with being able to hear or set any Stereo or Left / Right Pan effect for any sound on my DeepMind12.

What I want to be able to do is to assign a setting via the Mod Matrix where say the Mod Wheel or LFO1 / 2 controls the Pan of a sound i.e. moves the sound to/from the left or right channel.  All I get at the moment when I assign VCA Pan to the Mod Wheel is two channels doing the same thing - there is no pan effect applied at all, the same effect is applied to each of the L and R channels, which isn't what I want. It sounds as though I have two mono channels doing the same thing instead of them doing things differently i.e. in stereo!

I simply wish to be able to assign an effect to L/R and not to both!

Am I able to simply move the sound from the left channel to the right channel via a LFO or Mod Wheel in the Mod Matrix please? How on earth do I accomplish this on the DM12.

Can anyone assist please.  Many thanks all.

    John
