I just got a K2 that I plan to use with CV only.

    ----------

    my simple patch:

Keystep Pro CV ->     VCO 1+2 CV in

Keystep Pro Gate ->  Trig In

                                      Signal Out => Mixer

    ----------

when I press a key, I get no sound. when I let the key up, the sound plays.

am I patching this wrong, or is there some issue with gate recognition? I searched through all the docs, YouTube videos, and forums I could find, but it seems most people are running midi in and I couldn't find anybody talking about this.

When I plug in midi, and put a signal lamp in the Trig Out jack, I notice that the trigger is inverted. i.e., when no key is pressed, gate is HIGH and when a key is pressed, gate is LOW. can this be inverted?

    Please advise.

    thank you!

    Hi All,

Just purchased a new Odyssey, slowly getting the hang of it. One thing I've noticed & can't seem to cure is while playing, the volume & sharpness of a note increases dramatically (its like a plucking effect) as I'm pressing the key. If I press the key gently all is ok, but sometimes I get this LOUD sharp noise on top of the note I'm playing. Any clues anyone?

Am I just to heavy fingered?

Hi that is the accent you are triggering, use the Synth Tool to adjust what velocity it activates or turn it off.

Is there any way to alter the midi clock's subdivision? Every other synth I've used has a way to alter the resolution/subdivision ratio, and it makes the arpeggiator pretty unusable in conjunction with other midi instruments. You can work around it in the sequencer, but it's still really not ideal.

    Hi,

Since I have Odyssey, I've noticed a loud noise when I use headphones (obviously it doesn't come from the white or pink noise source that machine has). I made a record with ableton live and the noise remain. It's very unprefessional and annoying. Is my unit defect or is it normal in this kind of synthesizers?

    Anyone has noticed the same?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Since the 1.08 and 1.09 updates I am not able to modulate the tempo through the Patchbay Tempo Input port.

Tried first to check if the issue is coming from the Tempo Input selected mode but nothing changed regardless of the three modes.

Did anyone else also noticed this problem or am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks in advance!

      Oh well! Thats terrible!

I can confirm it. In internal mode it seems to change the volume somehow but not the time as before.

I had so much fun with that driven the tempo from an outside LFO in S&H.

Now I updated to 1.0.9 and all Tempo related (ARP/SEQ quantisationis also gone since 1.0.7) is unusable. So sad for that great little synth.

Hello I am really wanting the blue MS 1 and in Canada it seems like only red is available.  Do we know if the blue will be available and if so when?  Thanks.

    Hi,

Could somebody who has the Model D, please try making sounds based on these recordings and tell me if this is normal. I am trying to get a nice smooth synth sound, but there seems to be this problem even when there is no Osc turned on. (Maybe this is normal, and I am looking for something the Model D is not suited for)

    Link to google drive folder

    Thanks!

Recording 1 - everything turned off, everything set to 0. Output vol max.

Recording 2 - same as before but with sustain in loudness contour set to 10.

Recording 3 - osc 1 turned on, vol 10 in mixer, lC sustain still at 10. Cutoff set to -2. Click from first 2 recordings is present - how can I set it to just hear the osc sound???

Recording 4 - All osc turned off, cutoff at 0, filter emphasis at 10, amount of contour at 10. Sustain moving from 0 to 10 (Slight difference in sound) If you add osc 1 and turn up the cut off, the clicking drowns out the synth sound.

Recording 5 - All osc turned off. Loudness contour Sustain set at 10, Overload switch (not sure of its name) turned on and set to 10. Cutoff set to 2. By modulating only the loudness contour sustain I get this sound.

Recording 6 - All osc turned off. LC sustain at 10, cut off at -2. I can change the sound using the sustain. (WARNING high frequency sounds in this recording.)

Might be a good idea to read up un basic synthsizing technics. Even with all audio signals all turned off it is possible to get some sounds if your listening device is cranked to the max. You are getting into the noise floor. By the way, the "Overload" is the External Input".

I am begining to think that I have been sold an old stock instrument. Am I right to assume that the date code is the first four numbers of the serial number ?  i.e S1707 would be July 2017 ?

@BluePuma I believe that is the case.

Thanks Gary that's what I was afraid of. I bought from Amazon last November and thought the packaging was a bit duff at the time.

@BluePuma Your warranty should kick in with your purchase date so in that regard you should be covered. Some Amazon returns are good for up to 90 days too, worth checking to get a replacement. They seem eager to please these days-esp if you request a replacement as opposed to $ back. Good luck.

Believe it or not i just bought a 12D from Thomann with the same starting code S1707. It seems fine except the firmware is not the latest and I cant find out where to update it. I reckon this must have just been sitting in the Thomann warehouse for over 2 years :/

Well, I ordered a new DeepMind 6 from Thomann last month. I asked them to let me have the serial numbers of their current stock before I purchased. I was told they did not have that information on the purchasing system, but their last delivery from Behringer was on the 19th of October 2019. I thought fair enough must be new stock. When my (new) synth arrived, it was also an S1707 model ! However, it was in its full and unopened packaging and has been working fine. Currently awaiting the arrival of an RD-8

So I an using Ableton Live as my clock host, I connected my TD-3 by USB and have the MIDI OUT/THRU going into the MIDI IN of my vocla drum. I just want the TD-3 to play my midi pattern from Live while sending the clock through to the vocla drum. But however when I turn on sync in live's preference it works, but then the TD-3 play the internal patterns, then turning off sync, it plays my midi patterns from live but doesn't start my vocla drum. Any help is appreciated.

Okay I seem to have found a fix. Turning Track on and Sync on in Live's preferences and then setting the clock source to MIDI DIN, solved the issue.

Either I am really dumb at understanding or its some technical problem. Shouldn't the clock source be set to USB if thats what I am using as my clock source, since I am not using MIDI to sync the TD-3.
