I would like to use my M32 for FOH and my X32 for monitors. I have an DL32 on the stage.

    Here is my question:

Can I send the signal from the DL32 AES50 to my M32 while at the same time using an analogue snake between the DL32 and the X32?

@fgrondon  Tell me more. What is the purpose of the analog snake? Why not a digital cable between the consoles and then the stage box connected to the monitor console?

Hi @fgrondon , welcome to the community.

Yes you could use an analogue splitter snake to tap the DL32 inputs for the X32. I would use a splitter with isolating transformers to avoid ground-loops and phantom power problems.

Is there a reason why you don't want to use AES50 to provide the DL32 inputs to both consoles?

My purpsoe is to be able to use the gain knob on both consoles. I heard that if I do it the way you are suggesting the gain would be set by the console that is connected to AES50 A on the DL32

So, I have the M32 for FOH and the X32 for mixing our live stream on youtube, and we have the DL32 on the stage.

How do I take the signal from the DL32 to feed both my consoles?

      Thanks!

I know there are similar threads on here about USB playback, but I don't believe I've come across one addresing what I am looking to do if its possible at all.

I am able to playback a stereo return from my DAW (Presonus Studio One 4) over the ultranet to P16 modules...

What I am really wanting is to multi track playback from the DAW, having all 16 channels independent in the USB return playback from what was just recorded in the DAW for listen back for the full band via the P16 modules and not have to listen back just on stereo.

If that scenario isn't possible with the XR18, I can deal with it, but it would be nice.

    Any help is appreciated.

Hi Brandon, welcome to the forum.

Yes you can do this. If you are running Windows on your PC, you need to install the ASIO drivers for the XR18. Then set your XR18 into 18/18 ch mode on Setup -> Audio/Midi. You should then be able to route your DAW tracks to the USB outputs. You may need to select the ASIO device in your DAW preferences.

To send the USB returns to Ultranet, open In/Out -> Ultranet and scroll to the right to select the USB Return channel for each Ultranet output. There is a preset button USB Return that selects the first 16 USB returns.

I do have the ASIO drivers for the XR18 installed on my Windows PC...but I can't seem to get this to work properly.

Did you make the other settings I mentioned? In what way does it not work?

      Hi @bcrooms ,

In Studio One, you also have to set each track output to the corresponding USB Return going to the mixer.  Optionally, you can remove the tracks from the Master Buss or you can just mute it when you only want to send the individual tracks.  I don't use Studio One but I'll see if I can give you some guidance on setting the track outputs to the USB Returns. I think I have the free version somewhere.

      Hope this helps,

      Ken

I tried again to set the outputs in Studio One to relate to each channel return, but it still will not return audio through the ultranet interface to my P16s.

    Hello all,

As you know the M32C has 2 1/4 out on the back labled "monitoring outoput" I would like to send a paif of mix buses out to these physical outs.

I'm having trouble understand if that is possible.  Please help if you can.

Solo the desired mixbus master strip

Im sorry, Paul you are correct in that by soloing the mix bus it in fact passes to the monitoring out.

I just simply want to route the output of mix bus 1&2 to the monitoring out with no use of solos. It's for an IEM mix. The other IEM mixes would come off the stage box.

For the the life of me , i find this box hard to use and I must say I am starting to think I might have purchased the wrong item.   I hope with some elbow grease I can turn this feeling around.

There's monitoring and there's monitoring.  There are the console's 16 buses you'd use for monitoring (eg for wedges or IEMs,) then there's the console's stereo solo bus you'd use for solo-ing a particular channel in your headphones\nearfield monitors.

The dedicated "monitor" sockets on the rear of the console are tied to the console's solo bus.  They'll only ever output whatever's in the console's solo bus, unless nothing is soloed, in which case they'll output whatever is set in Monitor>Monitor Source option of the console.

The other XLR\TRS sockets on the rear of the console can have any bus routed to them (including the solo bus.)

What you cannot do is route a (non-solo) bus to the dedicated monitor sockets (at least not without sacrificing the console's solo functionality.)

If you let us know what console and stageboxes you've got, as well as which signals you'd like to appear on which outputs, we can probably figure out how to route it for you.

@CraigFowler   thanks very much for your patient response.  Ill get back to you with some thing more after some rest, its been a good long 12hr day and im more that a little fried.

im really hoping I can feel good about this purchase, but right now im feeling really bummed out.

Hey all. Been through the threads similar to this, but not getting any success on the X32, and can't reboot or restore anything.

USB drive doesn't seem to be active; no access lights on thumb drive.

Attached is a pic of the screen I'm getting. Ideas?

Hello Dorian, welcome to the community.

This can usually be fixed by placing a copy of the V3.11 firmware file on its own in the root folder of a USB stick, plugging it into the console and then switching-on the power while pressing and holding the USB button.

Once the console is running again, you can repeat the procedure with the V4.02 firmware file but remove the V3.11 one.

Thanks; tried that before I posted.  The USB stick isn't being accessed at all, it seems.

With the S\DL 16\32 stageboxes, they typically route signals hitting their the AES50 inputs in the 1-16 range to their analogue outs, 17-32 range to the ADATs, and 33-48 range to their ultranet sockets.

Stage whatever signals (eg your mixbuses) you want to appear there in the routing>out1-16\auxout\ultranet\userout tabs (assuming fw v 4+)

(Assuming you've staged those signals in the out1-16 tab, and using the AES50 A socket on the console to connect to the stagebox)

      Go Routing>AES50A, and set Outputs17-32 to out1-16.
