    HI!

For some reason I can't seem to use channel 1 on the m32 to output sound into windows under recording devices in the windows sound setup window.

Im trying to use my own microphone for webcam software instead of the webcam mic.

I started with a completely blank scene. EVERYTHING is defualt.

    Mic into channel 1

Setting "card out" in routing as either out1-8 or card 1-8 yeilds no results.

I was originally going to try and set the main LR to out as USB1/2 for windows NON-Asio but then just went as basic as possible and it doesn't seem to be working at all. nada

I have been using this for years now. This is my first time trying to input sound into a non asio software and wow what a mess I'm having trying to get it to work.

I have about 30 minutes to do this, spent forever yesterday. set matrix mixes, busses, anything... at this point I just want channel 1 of the board on a blank scene to output to the computer. I'll get fancy later w/ busses and dynamics.

Yesterday I just sat there tapping on the mic while staring at the recording input on windows while trying every random configuration i could possibly think of. I know it works because I can record into ableton no problem... but my gosh, ive done this with other audio interfaces with no problem. i don't know why this is troubling me

I even set the board to 2in/2out just to get rid of variables. i dunno

Blank scene, channel 1 into a webcam for audio. should be rather simple?

Hello @JoshPeekstok , welcome to the community.

If you just want to route the inputs to the USB sends, select Local 1-8 as the source of Card 1-8 on the Routing -> Card screen.

Otherwise, export you scene and attach the .scn file to your post (see Choose File button below) and tell us what you want on the USB sends. Then we can fix the scene for you.

I just want to use channel one of the mixer as the input for webcam software so i can use my own microphones.

       Hi @JoshPeekstok

The file has to be a scene file (with the .scn extension). Once you have that, select the Choose File (button below where you type your post.

Regarding what you want, the simplest way to get everything from the M32 to the USB 1/2 of the computer is to assign Main L/R to the first outputs on the Routing, Out 1-16 screen (using M32-Edit, not the iPad app). Then right click on those 2 circles and change the taps to post fader. Finally assign Out 1-8 to the Routing, Card screen.

Yeah I did that. Not sure why it isn't uploading. Tried a few times. File is named A.scn

      I'm an avid computer nerd.

Selected the file. It appeared in the box and as soon as I hit post it's gone.

Oye. I'm having a lot of problems with simple things today.

    X18 Mixers

X18 Question. I"m currently using snapshots to mute FoH and certain channels and aux mixes leaving some of the in ear live. My problem is I'm doing it from the ipad via wifi and it is just not reliable enough - sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Apart from that I love the unit. Is there a way of connecting a foot pedal via midi that will switch between two snapshots? Thanks

      Hi Alan @AlanRyan,

Welcome to the forum. Yes indeed you can use a midi footpedal to change snapshots. See this wiki document.

You may already have your solution in place by now, but I have two thoughts on this for what it's worth:

      1) You say that calling snapshots via wifi is not reliable. Are you using the built-in wi-fi in the X18? I've found that using an external 5GHz wi-fi connected to the X18 via ethernet is far more reliable from a wi-fi connected device.

      2) If your problem is only in having the ability to mute multiple objects *including* the LR fader (which is conspicuously not selectable in either mute group or DCA assignments), a feature from a 3rd party app I've been using may offer another option. It employs what it calls "iDCA" faders which allow assignment to control any faders -- including the LR fader and even the built-in DCA faders. It is available for both, Android and iOS. Of course, changing one's mindset and workflow to use a different app may be just as involved as your suggested plan to use a MIDI footswitch, so it may not be a viable option. As they say, your mileage may vary.

(In the interest of open communication: the app to which I refer is *not* a free app, but I am not affiliated in any way with the developer of that app, nor do I receive any compensation for anything associated with it; that said, I *am* a beta tester for the app.)

I've a problem with my X32. The power shut down and now only the buttons on the right of the monit light (but are dim). Out of warranty, so cracked it open and have the following voltages from the PSU (main connector, 13pin)

    1) 47v, 2) 15.14v, 3) 6.67v, 4) 15v, 5) 0v, 6) 8.25v, 7) 3.3v, 8) 5.0v, 9) 5.0v, 10) 5.0v, 11) 0v, 12) 0v, 13) 0v

235.2 v ac coming in through the back.

Can anyone confirm if these are correct or not?

    Cheers from Australia

Can I patch a external Mic thu a channel to the RTA?

      Hi @JimmyValenza

When you load a single instance of the Midas Spectrum Analyzer and select 'Channel' and it'll display whichever channel is selected on the console. Connect your RTA mic and select its channel (hopefully remove from stereo buss of course) and it'll populate in the RTA Effects rack as well as overlay on the individual channel EQ.

I'm on iOS 13.3.1.  The Vintage Room Reverb is causing the app to crash if I try to edit it.  If I change the effect to anything else it is fine and I can edit the parameters but Vintage Room Reverb causes the whole app to crash.

is anyone else having this problem?

Hi there. I took the Default Scene, from which I have written a new Scene on X32 Edit for my church's X32 Compact and now no sound is coming out of any of the outputs. I'm sure I have missed something very simple, as I'm a bit of a novice on Digital Mixers.

From what I understand, by proxy, all Channel signals get routed to the L/M/R Bus and then can be assiged to matrixes afterward, at which point only 2 FX can be added to the singnal path globally (say the GEQ on L/M/R and a DeEsser on Matrix).

What I'm trying to accomplish is to apply 3 separate FX to all the signals globally prior to exiting the board.

    What I have done:

    • Unassiged all of my Channels from LR and sent them all to a Mix Bus (FX 1 assigned to this Bus).
    • Sent the Bus to the LR Bus (FX 2 assigned to this Bus).
    • Sent the LR Bus out to several Matrixes (FX across each Matrix)
    • Assigned the Matrix to the Outputs for the FOH L and R
    • This way, I achieve 3 FX on all the signals going out of the board...so I thought

    Routing:

    • Main L was assigned to Out 7 --> I changed this to: Maxtrix 5 assigned to Out 7
    • Main R was assigned to Out 8 --> I changed this to: Matrix 6 assigned to Out 8

    Issues:

    • No sound coming out of the Speakers
    • I have not moved anything physically on the back of the board

Does anyone know what I have done wrong here? I have shared the scene file and a couple of pics for troubleshooting purposes.

    Thanks!

The scene you posted does't match the picture of the new scene. Check your XLR routing. You have Out 9-16 going to both XLR 1-8 (and 9-16). Since the "New' scene has all Out 9-16 set to "off" you wouldn't get any signal to the XLRs.

@DaveMorrison The X32 Compact only has 8 physical XLR outputs...all of which are being used and none of which were moved or disconnected.

The old scene had Out 9-16 mirrored the same as Out 1-8...I'm guessing for internal routing/patching. I turned them OFF because I had no use for them and assumed it would have no effect on the routing of the output signals.

The only real change I made was changing the signal path going to Out 7&8 (FOH) from the LR Bus (stereo) to Matrix 5&6 (stereo pair). I'll check it again when I get back to the church.

Could there be something else wrong?

I agree that's the way it should be, but the Default Scene that currently works is routed exactly like the picture you posted. I didn't change anything in routing except the P16 Ultranet and the Out 1-16 Tabs.

I wonder if anyone else has come across this problem. When Main/Matrix button is active on both the center section and the right section, moving the Main 1 fader on the center section will not move the Main 1 fader on the right section however moving the Main 1 fader on the right section moves the Main 1 fader on the center section. The photo below indicate this behavior. I reinstalled firmware ver. 1.05, tried changing the fader speed, initialized the console with the same result.  I also tried controlling remotely with mixing station and only the center main 1 fader moves.  When I change the center section and the right section to DCA, the same phenomenon. DCA 1 on the center section will not move DCA 1 fader on the right section.

I think this is a hardware related problem..

Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated.

      @JanWilliams

Seems at this point there would be no harm in loading a previous firmware file to see if it fixes the problem. I have copies of 0.18.1 and 1.01-1.05 if you need any. I am not 100% convinced (due to past experience with my M32) that the fader speed parts of the firmware could not be causing a glitch. It did with my M32 and also was fixed in a later firmware file. I'm also of the mind that trying different things in general may sometimes net you a solution.

Have you checked the link/layers part of setup? I think default is 'off' BUT there are I think 2 other options, right/center and left/center? It relates to the user banks but you never know. Also with the immense flexibility of custom layers you might try making a custom layer that copies exactly the layer that is malfunctioning, eg user 1 on the right bank exactly mirrors Main/Matrix on the right bank. If it is a fader issue both layers should respond exactly the same way. The other thing maybe worth trying is to initialize layers. If you press view in that layer, then the fader icon, then the little gear icon you can initilize layers.  Last of all I heard a new firmware file may be out this coming week and who knows what happens with that!

I tried all the troubleshooting  that you suggested.  I even found 1.01 version of the firmware.  Sadly nothing worked to correct the problem.  I went ahead and requested warranty support from Behringer.  Hopefully I can just do a simple replacement with my retailer.  Thanks again for all your suggestions and assistance.

Hey Jan @JanWilliams , I honestly don't think this is a firmware issue or we would all be having the same issue. Not entirely sure if it is hardware related, but is pointing in that direction IMO.

Now that the 4.0 firmware for the M32/X32 mixers has been released, can we hope that there will be an update for the MR18/XR18 as well? We know from an older post from Jan Duwe that some of the most wanted features like ouptput delay have already been done internally. But they have not been released due to a lack of resources for upgrading the apps. Now would be the perfect time to get this done.
