I purchased from B&H in NYC the Audio-Technica Two Person Podcasting Package which has the Behringer Xenyx q1002 USB mixer. All I want at this point is to be able to record a podcast with my wife.

Every piece of equipment is connected with the exception of the headphones! I attempted to record using Audacity software but the line on the screen is flat.

I really have no idea how to proceed. I am simply out of my element. I don't know the terminology at all. I took a while to figure out there was no on/off switch!

I would be thankful for any and all help just to be able to record a podcast with the equipment I have.

    Thanks

Hello Robert, welcome to the community.

See if these notes help you to get it working. If not, take a photo of the mixer showing the connections and controls and include it in your post (click on Photos at the top).

Thank you for your suggestions. However, I am not doing so well. Going through the checklist you sent I came to a problem with the diagram on the first page, Sound! Your example has Line In, USB Audio CODEC, ready.

Mine has, Microphone, USB Audio CODEC, default.

This seems to be the only major difference between your guide and my laptop.

I uninstalled Audacity and reinstalled with the mixer powered on just in case the laptop and mixer would plug and play. No difference. Is it possible that the numerous dials on the mixer are incorrect? Again I know nothing!

I do believe everything is connected correctly. At least I don't have any parts not connected20200516_124739.png

Yes it could be a problem with the mixer settings but your photograph does not show the controls.

I would set the level controls on channels 1 & 2 to 0 (12 o'clock) and turn the channel preamp Gain controls down until the Clip LEDs just stop flashing with loud inputs. You may also want to turn the Comp controls down a bit. Raise the Main Mix fader to 0. I cannot see if the USB/2-Track To Main Mix button is pressed but it should not be when recording.

What make/model of microphones are you using?

    Hi,

    I'm new to this console

I'm looking at a mic on channel 32 which I've sent to reverbs and delays on bus 13 - 16

All the effects are routed back to the fx returns and everything is lighting up like it should. I am sending the mic on 32 to 4 effects units at the same time and all are returning to FX returns 1 -4

The stereo bus button is lit on all the effects returns but I can not hear them through the headphones that I have plugged into the console.

If i solo the effects returns I can hear the effects through the headphones but if I take solo off I can only hear the dry mic on channel 32. No other solo lights are lit.

    Many Thanks

      Hi Scott @hoover,

Welcome to the forum. Do you have any DCA's assigned to the Fx Returns? If so, they are probably muted. If not, I would suggest that you export the scene (using the Utility button) to a file, zip it and attach it to your response (Choose File below).

Please help. I'm currently using UbuntuStudio 19.10. I'm using X-AIR Edit v1.5  It was working previously but as of recently the app's buttons and settings are no longer working after launching. I downloaded the app from the official Behringer site https://downloads.music-group.com/software/behringer/XAIR/X-AIR-Edit_LINUX_X64_V1.5.tar.gz

The application launches but the faders, channels, settings and all others are not responding whenever i clicked it.

      Hi @Motto26

Welcome to the forum. X-Air Edit 1.5 (64 bit) is working fine on my Mint 19.3. Are you certain that your Ubuntu is the 64 bit version?

Algun consejo?

      Per google translate:

I need help with my xenyx 502 console. I use it for live monitoring, along with in-ear KZ As10. The problem is that everything is heard saturated, no matter the volume at which I use it, the mix sent to me by the monitor is broken in my ears and is very uncomfortable. It happened to me several times in different places. Any advice?

      @Chodi7

Are you using the Xenyx 502 to create you personal mix from local sources or is your monitor signal coming from a another mixer such as a front-of-house (mian mixer)?

The signal comes from the monitoring mixer. It's the same mix for all musicians

On my X32 Rack I never cared much for the headphone output, but now I need it. I need to monitor several of the monitor outputs. However I don't know how to select the source. Monitor Source gives me this options:
    - Off
    - LR Bus
    - LR + M/C
    - LR PFL
    - LR AFL
    - Aux 5/6
    - Aux 7/8
How can I hear the output of my mixbusses in my headphones?
    Appreciate any help!

Those settings are for what appears at the monitor sockets when you haven't got anything soloed.  To hear your monitor mixes, solo them.

Below the compressor threshold graph on the Windows app.  Failing that, select the channel, go to the Mains tab.

    Hello,

Does anymore if I can add an active subwoofer to the PMP500MP3, using the 'monitor' outputs (mono, number 24 in manual).

    Thanks!

    Cheers, Marc

    Hi X32/M32ers,

I have a X32 Compact, connected to an Airport Express and have been using X32 Mix on an iPad Pro to wirelessly control the X32 almost flawlessly for about 3-4 years now. (I say almost flawlessly, becuase about one out of 10-15 times X32 Mix on my iPad Pro would not connect immediately. Generally, all I'd have to do is turn off the X32 and Airport Express and then turn them on again and then everything would be fine.)

So, I just bought a Turbosound IQ12 and connected it to my X32 Compact via the ultranet (P16) port. I set everything up using the Routing button, P16 tab, and the IQ setup tab. I'm getting sound out of the IQ12 as expected just fine.

The problem is, for some strange reason, I can no longer get X32 Mix on my iPad Pro to connect to the X32 Compact (it just says "listening"). I've tried my old turn everything off and then back on thing with no luck. I even tried disconnecting the ethernet cable (going to the IQ12) from the X32 Compact ultranet port and my iPad Pro still won't connect (even after turning everything off and then on again multiple times)! So, now, even with the IQ12 completely disconnected from the X32 Compact, X32 Mix will no longer connect.

Has anyone seen anything like this before or have any ideas what might be going on?

Any advice/thoughts are much appreciated. Thanks!

(Edit: BTW, I'm running the latest versions of iPadOS, X32 firmware, and X32 Mix.)

    Jay

I don't see why a simple change to the Ultranet routing would interfere with the network connection. Check that the network settings on the X32 are still correct for your router. There have been reported problems with the Airport Express and XAir/X32 consoles but, if it was working previously and there has been no change to the iOS version on your iPad, it should still be OK.

      Hi Jay @JayAlper

I'm not aware of any other report of an iQ affecting wireless connectivity. But I do remember a few years back quite a few reports of connectivity issues with the Airport Express, with the resulting solution of changing to the Extreme model. So you may have been super lucky to this point (and maybe your luck just ran out). I had a D-Link router that went bad awhile ago. Do you have another router to replace it (for confirmation)?

      Paul and Rex,

Thank you for the quick responses!

Yes, I was also stumped as to why connecting the IQ12 would have any impact on the wireless network. And, apparently it doesn't.

I don't have an explanation, but after trying with no success multiple times in multiple ways (turning router and mixer on and off several times, with and without the IQ12 connected, etc.), I just turned everything off and walked away for a couple of hours. When I finally came back, it worked again!

I was first able to connect X32 mix with the IQ12 disconnected from the X32 Compact, and then again with the IQ12 connected. I've also been able to turn everything off and then back on and have everything work perfectly a number of times.

My only explanations for my previous issues are gremlins or some kind of operator error (I'm guessing the latter).

Anyway, I seem to be back in business. Sorry for what I guess must have been some mistake I made.

BTW, the Turbosound IQ12 is great!

      Take care,

      Jay

Do you use a static IP address or DHCP on your X32? If the second is true, you should double check the IP address of your X32 always before using the X32 Mix since the address might change from time to time.

      mfk1312,

Actually, I do use a static IP address (vice DHCP), but when I was having the issue I did check the IP adresses on the console and on the iPad (in X32 Mix) and everything looked correct. Still don't know what happened, but everything seems to be working now. Of course having said that, the next time I turn everything on I'll probably have an issue again.

      Take care,

      Jay
