    My understanding is that Behringer usb audio interfaces support balanced line input.  I want to get a unit that will allow me to record from unbalanced line input such as a tape machine or the tape monitor port on an old fashioned home stereo with attached turntable to the phono input port.  Thus th question can I plug an unbalanced line output into the line input on a umc204hd?  I find that specifications on usb audio interfaces lacks details in most instances.

      Hello Lynn, welcome to the community.

      Yes you can connect unbalanced sources to the UMC204HD Line inputs. Keep the cables as short as possible to minimize noise pickup.

    I bought [U-PHORIA STUDIO](https://www.behringer.com/Categories/Behringer/Computer-Audio/Recording-Packages/U-PHORIA-STUDIO/p/P0DZ3).

    I installed 2 drivers, [ASIO](http://www.asio4all.org/) and a [Berhinger](http://bit.ly/2ptlNTY-Behringer-64bit) whose link I actually got from a [YouTube tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWirJwKyFx0).

    I'm using Audacity to record and it does so correctly. I also can hear audio correctly, but I cannot use both at once. If I do record while, for example, playing a youtube video, I get the error:
    ```
    Error opening recording device - Error code -9999 Unanticipated host error.
    ```

    I also tried for example Discord, and the recording does not work there.

    I'm not sure what information should I give you. Some ASIO configuration? Properties of the recording and output drivers?

    I can hear on my computer speakers or headphones I connect to it  directly (not through the UM2) but I would rather use the U-Phoria headphones. It seems logical to me that both should work at the same time.

    Help!

      Solved it. I uninstalled both drivers and reinstall only ASIO.

      Guess you should never go to unofficial sources... I did it because I found 2 videos that did the same and comments on people that solved their issue with it.

      Hello Jose, welcome to the community.

      You did the right thing. That old driver was intended for Windows 7. Several people have run into trouble using it on Windows 10. As you have found, the built-in drivers should handle the UM2 and many other stereo interfaces. If you run into any more issues, see if these notes help.

    I have a GoXLR Mini connected to my PC via USB. I have a vocal mic connected to the GoXLR Mini via XLR and I can successfully change the levels with the 'Mic" slider, no problem. I've run an optical cable from my PS4 Pro to my GoXLR Mini and set my "System" slider to be "Console" - and the audio from the PS4 Pro always comes through at the same level, no matter what I do. I can turn the "System" slider all the way up or all the way down, and I'll see the audio meters in OBS reflecting the changes I'm making with the sliders (barely moving when I turn the sliders down, bouncing wildly when I turn them up) but if I record a clip to test the audio set up, the audio from the PS4 Pro via optical cable never changes, it's always loud no matter where I set the slider. What really confuses me is that the meter in OBS looks like everything is working as expected. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

    Hello,

    I apologize if this issue has already been dealt with, and if so I would appreciate if someone were to point me in the direction of a relaxant thread. Anyway, I am having pervasive audio crackling and cut outs when I play any audio from my MacBook Air through my UMC404HD audio interface. I am especially concerned with how this relates to recording in Logic Pro X.

    The crackling is not a very big issue because it doesn't actually affect how the audio is recorded into the DAW (I have tested this by listening to the recordings directly from computer to headphones: no crackles); on the other hand, the cut outs during recording render long takesnear impossible to capture, because the recording will cut out and what I'm left with afterward is a jump in the audio recorded.

    Should I return my interface and replace it with another brand? Any advice would be appreciated.

      Hello Aidan, welcome to the community.

      Are you using the UMC404HD's external power supply? Without it, cut-outs can happen if the PC USB port cannot supply sufficient current.

    I've just bought a UMC22 and tried to use it with Audacity. I plug my guitar directly into channel 2 with the Direct Monitor button deployed. I can hear the guitar perfectly until I hit the red Record button then I hear a strong echo sound behind my guitar. As far as I know I haven't set any effects in Audacity. In fact I only hear this sound during record mode; when I play it back there is no echo - the sound is fine. I have the same situation with Bandlab and Amplitube. I also have an iRig HD2 but that doesn't have this problem. I'm using a Dell Inspiron running W10.Any thoughts please? Many thanks. Chris

      Hello Chris, welcome to the community.

      You appear to be hearing record monitoring from Audacity along with the input. That should not be possible with the Direct Monitor button pressed in. I suggest that you contact your supplier for a replacement.

      There are some notes about using stereo USB interfaces with Windows 10 but I don't think any of the settings could cause your issue.

    I need to know if there is any power compatability issues between the US and EU/UK. I have distributers in the EU telling me the units they distrubute in the EU are not power compatible in the US because the units require 240V. Can you please confirm or deny that all behringer qx2222usb mixers are 100-240v compatible or if there are indeed units made that require only 240V? Regards and Thanks.

      Hello Maxis, welcome to the community.

      I am not in a position to confirm or deny anything but the Quck Start Guide for the QX2222USB shows the power requirements:

      QX2222USB QSGQX2222USB QSG

      You might have an issue with warranty if you personally import units from Europe to the US...

    Hello, I am not very knowledgeable about audio interfaces and I have been having some issues I don’t know how to fix. I wonder if anyone could share some wisdom, I’d be very grateful.

    I have a Behringer UMC404HD, which has served me well for a couple of years.

    I use channels 2, 3 and 4 for synths and samplers. I use channel 1 for vocals, which are recorded via a condenser mic going through an FX processor (which also provides phantom power); I often record the vocals clean and then use one of the outputs of the interface to send back to the FX unit. This can result in channel 1 going through quite a bit of plugging in-and-out of cables and occasionally having a loud signal/feedback going in. I try to be careful but I might have made mistakes (e.g., not switching off phantom before plugging, feedback, etc.).

    A couple of weeks ago, channels 1 and 2 became awfully quiet, anything going through them becomes barely audible. Channels 3 and 4 operate as usual... Is it possible that I have inadvertently damaged the first two channels? Could this be easy to fix or should I resign myself to buying a new interface? Any thoughts welcome!

      Hello Daniel, welcome to the community.

      Are channels 1/2 very low even when listening through the UMC404HD Phones output with the Mix control turned fully to the left? If so, it does sound as though there may be a hardware fault.

      I suggest that you raise a Care ticket for Service Repair explaining your problem. This is done by clicking on Support at the top of the page and then clicking the Create a Care Ticket button. This is only possible if you have completed all the required fields in your profile. Make sure that you fill-in every required field on the Care form.

    I registered my new UMC404HD over a month ago and received an email confirmation that the product was registered. However, I still have not received a code to use waveform. I tried to do another ticket about the issue, but it just shows as another product registration. I may have done something wrong but this is where I am currently. Any help would be appreciated.

      Is the Care ticket shown when you click on the Support menu? If not, there may have been an error in one of the fields in your profile or the Care form.

      You should get an email confirming registration. Keep watch on your email spam/junk folder as responses have been missed this way. If there is no response and no ticket shown on the list after two days, I would try again.

    Any one help with this knotty problem?

    I have a new pc, spec below. My UMC404HD now glitches then cuts out. I have tried all the diagnostics I can think of but to no avail to include:

    Buffer sizes

    Changed motherboard from H310 to Z390 chipset

    Removed video and wifi cards

    Disabled all onboard audio drivers.

    Removed all drives and replaced with ssd from old machine.

    Tested UMC404HD and USB cable on another pc.

    Example of glitching in link below.

    I've run out of ideas!

    Any ideas?

      Hello Richard, welcome to the community.

      Which USB ports have you tried? Audio interfaces usually work better on USB 2.0 ports. I've found that the USB-C ports on recent PC designs seem to support USB 2.0 devices better than USB 3.x ports do.

      Not exactly. There were audio issues with the AMD Ryzen chipset but that does not apply here. You might check-out this report on audio issues with Windows 10 but it should not affect V1909 although disabling audio enhancements is usually a good idea anyway.
