I just got 6 DP48s' really nice looking and solid feel.

My issue is the Midas DP48 is not getting name or color assignments from Wing.I already updated it from the Midas website 5/21/20, so I have the latest firmware 1.2.

I followed the instructions from the quick start guide on assigning by name and color through setup. I dont know what else to do. I checked in routing on the Wing that all my customizations  from AES50A/local and aux were being seen on the AES50B side.(B is what I am using for dp48s A is for the digital snakes).  Help please? any thoughts?

Everything else is working though and it sounds great.

The Wing won’t pass that to DP48’s like the x/m32. Hope in a future firmware update it will be done.

      Thanks for the reply.

I saw somewhere where you can enter all the info via text, do you know where I can find that info?

      Hi Michael @senod138 ,

The DP48 has a new firmware (1.3) as of May 20. Also make sure the Wing firmware is 1.06. The channel names and color should be sent from the Wing to the DP48 (but not through a stagebox - eg. SD8) and should be available in the Edit and Assign screens.

Group names can be added by creating a file called names.csv and placed in the DP48M folder of SD card. The group names must have a max of 8 characters in length and delimited by commas. For example:

      PaulVox,JohnVox,RingoVox,LGuitar,RGuitar,Bass,Keys,Leslie,Drums,,,

Hello! I have an X32 that I am about to start using with my band to run our monitors (whenever we can play live again!).

I am researching options for splitting the analog audio so I can give that to the venue's stagebox, and then sending it digitally via AES50 to our X32. Or something like this setup...

All I've come up with so far is to buy an analog splitter and pair it with the Behringer S32 digital snake/stage box. Does anyone know of any other options? Particularly something more affordable (looks like this would cost at least $1,500)...

I know I could just keep it all analog until it gets to our board and use XLR snakes for much cheaper. But I do like the idea of using just one Cat5 cable to get all the audio to our X32. Seems like a lot less fuss than 32 XLR fantails.

It also seems like the S32 is geared more toward the venue vs. a touring band. It would be super cool if there was an analog splitter / AES50 digital snake combo option for bands so we could split the audio and optionally send the venue analog or digital audio.

Any thoughts or help is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks guys!

As far as I know, there hasn't been a combo device developed. What some have done is combine the stagebox (S32 or 2 S16) and splitters, such as the Behringer MS8000 or Art S8 into a rack or flightcase.

Recall scope and global safe filters should be more granular to allow selectively filter single physical inputs. Currently only whole sections such as "Local", "AES50 1", etc. can be filtered.

Hi everyone. I come from the world of location audio for TV/Film so mixing with this big a digital desk is a whole new animal to me. I am curious  how I can send a single channel strip to multiple mix buses. Here is my scenario. Corporate webcast w/ Multiple presenters, call-ins, music and VOG mic. Feeding audio from our location to multiple sites.

    1) Phone participants can call in. I do a mix minus so i don't send it back out but send it to small stage monitors on set so hosts can hear them.

    2) I have to send music and VOG out to the main mix as well as the stage monitors. So my question is can I send individual channel strips to multiple mix buses at the same time? Ss that main show get participants, VOG and Music while phone, music and VOG get sent to floor speakers. Any advice on proper set up would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello, yes you can send any or all ch strips (inputs) to multiple buses at the same time. Generally the last 4 of the 16 mixbuses are used for fx sends, but that still leaves 12 different buses you can use and send where you please with whatever ch's you want to send.

Yes you can. But which mixer are you using this forum covers a lot of them.

I'm working with a Behringer x32 for our church and am not sure how to change the level of effects on individual channels that are part of a matrix. I know how to do this just for the main mix, but not for a matrix. I think it has to do with the concept of post and pre-faders, which I finally understand the difference between. I'm relatively new to the sound world, so thanks in advance for your patience.

EDIT: I have edited this post as I had originally given some bad advice (thanks George!) Hope this is better!.

Hello, matrix ch's can only have mixbuses and the mains in them. So ch's requiring more or less fx would likely get them by going to an fx bus first, usually bus 13-16, then the fx RETURNS for that particular effect would be added to: either an already existing mixbus in your matrix, or by creating a new mixbus that only has the desired fx return(s) in it then adding that to your matrix. Maybe then just increasing or decreasing the level of that bus (whichever one has that ch and fx you wanted) within the matrix, will do what you wanted.

Gary, you've spent too much time on the Wing

On the X32 the FX bus 13-16 sends are pre-effect, which as I think about it is possibly a good way to send more dry signal to the matrix to do what I usually want, which is the opposite of adding more fx.  In my case it wouldn't work well since my fx buses get a LC/HC at 600 and 6K respectively for the Abbey Road studio trick.

I tend to mix verb to the Main L/R for the room, which means I usually run fx hotter than I might for the broadcast feed, so I subgroup my vocals and run the dry vocal subgroup into the matrix just enough to reduce the verb balance but not so much that the vocal balance is thrown off.

It's the same idea as submixing drums and adding them into the broadcast mix to make up for an abundance of acoustic drums in the room.

Yikes...got my sends and rtn's bassakwards!...sorry. Maybe the easiest way is to then create a post fader mixbus with only the specific fx rtn ch's in it and then add that bus to his matrix. (see my edited original post)  My point was as much about a ch itself not being able to be sent directly to a matrix. It needs to be part of a bus (or the mains) so it can.

    Wing Monitor outs.
I’m using the wing in a studio and have my studio monitors connected to the Aux out 7&8 so I can keep the master fader on ‘0’ dB and use the monitor level control (top left) as a master room volume. Everything is ok accept I am unable to get a signal into my headphones - I need to be able to turn the monitor level off to kill the sound in the speakers and use the headphone level control for the cans, does anyone know how to be able to set this up please. Thanks ?

I have a related problem. Like you, my studio monitors are connected to Aux 7/8, however, I hear sound in my headphones as long as the Monitor and Main output are set above zero. However, the PHONES LEVEL control doesn't do anything. Selecting the Speaker Output in the Live Monitoring section and touching MUTE, mutes the sound in the headphones as well.

      Expected behavior

      - Selecting the Speaker Output in the Live Monitoring section and touching MUTE, should not mute the sound in the headphones.

      - Changing the OUTPUT control from Headphones A, Speakers B or Both C should change determine where the Monitor output is heard.

I am using an x32 compact for FOH Mix. I'm looking to purchase the Producer for a out of house mix via live stream. I was told I could connect the Producer to the X32 compact. However, I was also told I would not be able to seperate the gain. Is that true? If so, what should I do? Thanks so much!

You can connect them share the preamps between consoles (and send busses back and forth). The pre-amp can only be set to one value at a time. Either console can control it but only one at a time. The other console can use digital trim. I don't think it's a big deal. I set the gain at the begining of a show (leaving headrrom for "inspired" performances. If FOH changes the preamp levels in the middle of the show, the monitor mixes will likely be ruined.

If you use Mix Station Pro for Android, two new updates were released in the last 24-hours.

    Changelog v1.1.1

    - Added MIDI support for MCU controller

    Changelog v1.1.0

    Added

    - Restricted use => multiple busses

    - Fully customizable channel strips

    Fixed

    - Show and USB player not working after reconnect

    - IDCA red line not always correctly shown

    Changed

    - Layer reset does account for selected channel count

    - Meter bridge does account for layer channel count

The non-Pro version of Mixing Station Wing is still on version 1.0.7.

If you are not sure how to use this app with your console. I've added a few instructions below.

Using Mixing Station Pro with WING

If you mix live sound with your WING console, I think this app is a must-have. It allows you to walk around the room and make adjustments on the console using your smartphone or a tablet. You can change anything on the channel strip, busses, DCAs, matrixes and the Main outs. This includes EQ, compression settings, gate settings are more. This is priceless to me. You can even reassign sources to destinations. All you need is a cheap wireless router that you can connect to your WING.

Setting up this app is easy.

    1. First, connect a CAT 5 cable between the router and the network jack on the WING.
    2. Next, select the SSID for your router on your mobile device. If you do not do this the app won’t be able to communicate with your console. Note: It will appear as ‘Connected, no internet.’
    3. Next, open the MIXING STATION app and touch ‘Connect.’
    4. The app should load in a few seconds. Once you connect you won’t have to do it again.

The documentation is good for this app. Check it out to learn much more.

A question, you mention in your post that show and usb were fixed, I must be missing something as I cannot find the USB player controls in the app at all.  Please advise.

I am using a a Xenyx 1202usb and am trying to use the borad for podcasting a for video game e-sports commentary. the problem I am having is being able to send game sound to the board itself but not out put it back to my computer so as no to cause an audio loop. I tryed to achieve this by using a mix minus setup and and control the channels individually by using the FX knob to control output from the board but still be able to the sound through headset micrphones connected directly to the board. I did indead achive the control I wanted but when I outputed the sound from the FX send port back to my computers input the recording sounded terrible! I sounded like all the sound coming into the computer was coming out of a tin can and all distorted. However when I try to output the board audio through the usb to the computer it all sound fine but loose the ability to control the game audio onthe board becasue i am not using the FX send port onthe borad.

I am at a total loss. I have been working on this for 3 day try to figure out how to get this to work and It just wont. Please help. I have scowered these forums and no one has answered this problem.

Hello All.  I am in the process of trying to convert from an analog mixer to the Behringer X16 Air and I made it through all the technical hurdles; initial configruation, setup as access point, etc. However, my knowledge lacks when it comes to creating the scene for live vocals and a feed for A/V equipment.  Maybe on occasion run a keyboard, guitar and provide a feed for a box drum.  If I can get it close, it should help me tweek it the rest of the way.  Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Hello David, welcome to the community.

To get started, take a look at some of these videos. They should help you to setup the channels, FX and monitor mixes. I recommend using XAir Edit for initial setup as it gives a better view of the configuration.

If you run into problems, save your scene and attach the .scn file to your post (see Choose File button below) and we should be able to help.
