    Hello all,

    I have a question about the Behringer XR18. I have had it running pretty well under Windows 10 Pro for about a year now. After a recent Windows update I’ve developed some issues.

    The XR18 shows up as installed correctly under device manager. I can use the X AIR Edit to make adjustments and see that audio is being picked up. I can record audio from mics with Reaper. And the standard stereo pairs show up for selections under audio devices.

    The problem is that now I can no longer use Source Connect, Zoom, Zencastr, Skype, or any other conferencing tool. The XR18 ports no longer show up as an option within the various solutions but before they did.

    One of the purposes for this XR18 is podcasting. This makes it impossible to bring on remote guests. I can use a second computer and route audio via some other interfaces I have but that’s getting a bit convoluted. Does anyone have any ideas that might get me back on track?

    It turns out there is an issue with the specific user account I use for studio work. I created a new account and everything works as expected. If I find the time to see what actually failed I’ll update. But for now, I’m going to get this system back in production.

    I've dug around a bit for an answer to this and can't seem to find one, even if that answer is no, I just haven't really seen it out there. 

    I have the UMC 1820 and have a mic pre connected via ADAT to supply the additional 8 inputs. Everything works as expected, except that I can't figure out a way to directly monitor these inputs. I can monitor from the DAW output, but that comes with latency.

    Is there a way to dirctly monitor the adat inputs?

      Hi Phillip, welcome to the community.


       


      The UMC1820 does not provide any direct monitoring of the digital (S/PDIF and ADAT) inputs. Direct monitoring is only supported for analogue inputs 1-8.

    Hi, the Behringer  webpage for this item advertises < Extensive MIDI implementation and user preset memories for instant program recalls>  however, I see no reference to user preset memories in the user manual. can someone shed some light on how to save and recall presets on the device please.

    I've just bought the behringer UMC22 as it was advertised to be good value for money, there is however an issue that has been highlighted on an Amazon review. Inst 2 doesn't work after setting up. 

    I'm using the interface with guitar rig 5 and it works a charm if i plug the guitar into Line 1, but when I plug into inst 2 i get a signal i.e the green signal light flashes but no audio at all. this hjas been raised on Amazon after I checked some of the reviews, and aledgedly behringer are aware of this issue.

    Any ideas for a fix as I'm on the verge of sending this back for a refund if I can't get it working as it should.

      Are you talking about direct monitoring,or software monitoring?


      Mine works with direct,haven't checked its software monitoring yet.

      I can use software monitoring also.


      2 ways for that:


      1.don't install asio4all,and use the WDM drivers,that Windows auto-detects.


      2.Google for these drivers:


      BEHRINGER_2902_WIN32_2.8.40


      or


      BEHRINGER_2902_X64_2.8.40

      This is the prefered way,in my opinion.

      Don't use the old behringer drivers,which I mentioned as the second way.They are full of trouble!

    I recently bought a replacement USB dongle for for a clients ULM202 USB wireless mics. Problem is the mics arent syncing with the new dongle. The light on the USB stick stays on orange, but the green light for the channel doesnt not illuminate and I'm getting no signal on the mic. I went to the device manual and tried to troubleshoot it, but nothing worked. 

     

    From my understanding these dongles can be replaced. Is there something I'm missing? Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Having an issue with a new UMC204HD interface I bought so I could have a nice sounding microphone on Discord.  Let me preface by saying that I am not an exceptionally knowledgeable audiophile, but just an amateur hobbyist in this department.

    The two issues I am having is:

    1. Audio cuts out once every 3-5 minutes for only a second.  You can hear two faint clicks in the headphones and audio comes back.  Normally this is tolerable, with the exception of when in Ableton.  Once it cuts out and comes back, I lose audio in Ableton until I restart the program.  Not ideal.
    2. I have no audio on Chrome.  The Chrome playback appears in the volume mixer for HD Playback on the motherboard sound card, but it will not show up in the volume mixer for the UMC204HD.  I have the Behringer set as default.  I have manually pointed Chrome to the 204HD as well as default, no change.  I get audio everywhere else.  I'm using Microsoft Edge for Youtube at the moment.

    What I did was plugged the 204HD into the computer via USB.  The microphone goes into the XLR port, and the headphones went into the 204HD.  I went to the website and installed the 4.59 drivers.  After installation, the device manager showed 'Unknown devices' instead of the 204HD and I had no 204HD input/output options.  Right clicking and allowing Windows to locate updated drivers installed a driver with the version number 10.0.18362.207.

    After that, I have the audio working to the described scenario.  In device manager, I'm still showing these two issues:   

     

    Allowing Windows to search for a driver under the Other Devices was not successful.  Searching for the one under Sound Controllers  only resulted in me being told I have the latest drivers.  

    I'm not sure what to do next, I thought I had a couple leads with Google, but nothing panned out.

     

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Hello.

      You should uninstall the drivers and disable all other sound processors like onboard soundcard, nvidia hd audio or any other hdmi targeted sound drivers etc. 

      So behringer must work all alone. I know i am new, but i searched a lot on reddit etc. 

      After all, i bought the interface and did everything like i said, and then i installed the latest drivers from support page, while in the next step of installing, you will be warned that you should connect the device or connect later.. I advice you to connect right there; not before or after.

      For now everything is ok, i did try every activity i did before i buy the interface. Youtube etc. 
      I even played guitar over a song listening by YouTube. (that's the most issue people talks about).

      Recorded guitar in Reaper. Sound never stopped. 

      The only thing i didn't like is the depth noise. It is more than i expected. Even if midas preamps does that, i can't recognise the Xenyx ones...

    I can't get the sound driver for my Uphoria 404 to share with two programs at once! It won't for example work with my Line6 PODFarm  guitar sim and Guitar Tonemaster.com site so I can jam along with their jam songs. Too if I have Lets say EZ drums2 open the guitar site or any other site such as youtube won't play any audio. Soon as I close the PODFarm or ezd2 They will play again! Any help greatly appreciated.

      Hi Ron ( @ron-e-g ), 


       


      This has been an ongoing issue for some time now.  Assuming you are on Windows since I've never had a problem on Mac?   This is caused by bitrate conflicts between the two programs.   


       


      I've had some success in Windows by doing the following to match the bitrate: 


       


      1. Start with no programs running. 


      2. Open the UMC Control Panel and go to the "Status" tab. 


      3. Note the "Current Sample Rate".  This is reporting what the interface is currently set to. 


      4. Open up Guitar Tonemaster.com and start to play a backing track. 


      5. Make note of what the current sample rate is in the UMC control panel. It may have changed. 


      6. In your DAW, create a project with the same sample rate and add your guitar sim to an instrument track. 


      7. Both should work now. 


       


      YouTube is a little trickier since each file you play may have a different sample rate.  You either have to do the same steps above for each file or your can use another trick.  What I do is use a tool called Audio Hijack (Mac) to save the audio to a .WAV file and then I add that to my DAW project along with whatever plugin I want to use.  I'm sure there are similar programs for Windows to capture audio from another program.

      I'm not sure we are tracking the same Ken. Thanks for your response. My problem here doe not involve any of my DAWs.  Stand alone  only.  I like to jam along to different jam songs without opening any of my DAWs.  I have two.


      Interesting enough..This problem doe not exist with my stand alone Guitar Rig 5. But soon as I try to play through POD farm,  the  Guitar Tone.com site sound stops , and all I get is the perpetual circuling  arrow! Also If I try to open any other of my  stand alone audio programs like EZ drum, EZ keys , SampleTank or AmpliTube. It imidetaly stops audio in the playing track in the guitar tone site, or touTube site ,or what ever might be playing. I should mention here, I had problems..a lot when I upgraded to Win.10 back when. I thought they were resolved. So I don't know if this is a Windows thing or Behringer, or what. Once this event happens..I have to re-boot the CPU to get the player working again.

      OK..Think I figured it out. I had to go to..Control Panel>Sound>line out 1-2 click on that then choose advanced Tab , and select from the drop-down list the same sample rate as the other programs seem to be using 24bit 44100Hz instead of 48000 Hz.  All playing well together again!

      Glad to hear you got it working but... that will only work until some random SOB comes by and sets the bitrate back to 48000.  Just so you are aware. 


       


      Usually, the standalone versions of things like Guitar Rig are just .exe wrappers for the plugins so there's usually a place where you can change the birate for those as well. Similar to what I described when starting a new project in your DAW.

    I have had an XR18 for over a year now. Use it all the time with our band. Never a problem until now. Today when setting up, we were getting a pulsating "pop" in the monitors. This also happened at a recent gig but after a one power down/up it went away. I noticed when looking at the XR18 that the "power light" was also pulsating. Turned everything off/on and the power light kept on pulsating as before. Unplugged everything except power chord, no difference., Turned off/on several times, no difference. Tried different outlet, no difference. Tried another power chord, no difference, turned off .... waited about 10-20 minutes while doing other things, turned back on and it worked. No pulsating pop and no pulsating power light. Seems to be working ok. Has anyone experienced this behaviour before ??? Smells like a possible power supply problem to me?? Getting nervous. Wondering if I should have it looked at although random things are often very hard to fix?

      Follow up on this issue ....


      They needed to replace part# A09-AW700-00000 (PCB, 409061 REV-A).


      Part was $69.69 CDN Labor was $100 CDN (1hr bench time) - repair time 8 weeks in total !!!! Went in Aug 27/19 picked up Oct. 21/19. We were LUCKY to have a spare from a friend to use while waiting, otherwise we would have had to buy a new one to do our gigs. No way to rent one where I live. This is the problem with getting stuff fixed in our country (Canada). The wait times can be absurd. This was a 1 hr fix after the part was obtained. Other than that, the unit and the concept was worked flawlessly for us over about 3+ years.

    Hi!

    I bought an UCM404HD, works fine but when I connect a HDMI monitor (with hdmi-USBC HUB), the audio interface dissapear from audio devices, and only a pulse is heard from the speakers, the HDMI monitor is also disconnected.
    I try to connect only the audio interface and the monitor and neither does it work. I have tried with many cables.
    Before i had a Line6 UX1 and it worked fine with the HDMI monitor connected.

      Having a similar issue here. 


      windows 10.  u-phoria umc404hd.  BenQ SW2700 monitor. 


      Basically, the Behringer will "disappear" as an audio device, (red X on the speaker icon on the taskbar) and I see only BenQ and Realtek as audio devices.  I'm guessing the Behringer driver needs updating (?) or there's some kind of conflict between the 3 audio devices? 


      For now I went into the - Device Manager / Sound, video and game controllers - and disabled Intel(R) Display Audio and Realtek High Definition Audio (leaving only the Behringer UMC 404HD 192k enabled) to see if that makes any difference.  Will next check to see if there's an upate for the Behringer driver ...

    Been a customer nearly 20 years and own at least 10 Behringer products, that's over. First of all, I never needed support and loved this company because of that. My UMC 1820 died in the middle of recording vocal tracks and I've done everything any computer savvy user would do to resolve. The issue follows the device on multiple computers w\different OS. Trying to get any contact or resolution to this issue is not only difficult and frustrating, it's RUDE. I used the web form to submitt a request when the unit died. I received an email response that Behringer "We would love to help you and will respond to you within one business day.We are honored to have you as our customer -- thank you for your trust" and would contact me in 1 (one) business day. It's been a week (7 days-5 business days) and not a word. I've sent multiple requests through the "support Form on the web". This is not feeling like I am very "Honored" and as of today you have totally betrayed and lost my Trust as a customer. Meantime the DAW portion of my recording studio is dead in the water.

    I have a regestered unit, under warranty till 2022. What good is a warranrty when the company will not contact you for a legitimate claim or service? In my country that warranty is called a Worthless Instrument (Look it up, it's a felony in my counrty).

    Behringer has lost me as a customer forever. I'd don't accept being treated like this as it is an insult. I'll most likely need to spend more for a product that does what a Behringer unit does but at least I'll be able to make a call and speak to some one and get my issue resolved should I have one or get a replacement unit covered under warranty . . . . That's worth the extra money. Buyer BEWARE! There is no such thing as a Behringer warranty and no such thing as Behringer support! Do not give them your TRUST as a paying customer, you WILL NOT be Honored!

      This is strange.


      I am from India and have 12 Behringer pedals and a pre-amp. I am a regular forum contributor Level-3 as they call.


      For any issue even not with the registered product aka pre-sales, I usually get a response with 48 hours. First reply is usually automatic after registering the complaint. I just closed a ticket yesterday after a detailed email from me was answered back by a service guy.


      I can recognize your anger and frustartion also but this type of service is totally unheard of with Behringer. Which country are you from?

      You're one up on me.  I submitted a request for pre-sales support on the UMC1820 through their support website (you'd think they'd want the customer), and didn't even receive an automated email response acknowledging the request.  I've been waiting for nearly a day and a half, now, and there has been no response to the request on the support site.  I've tried the phone number they publish in their documentation, +1 702-800-8290, and it just rings with no one picking it up.  Not even an outgoing voicemail message.  There are images all over their site that imply that they provide phone support -- pictures of people wearing headsets, headset icons -- everything but real people with real headsets answering real phone calls.  I've got six frickin' badges on their community site, now, and I haven't even gotten an answer to the one simple queston that will determine whether or not I buy the unit.  Needless to say, I'm thrilled.

      Hi Ed, can you see your Care ticket listed when you click on Support at the top of this page (assuming you are logged on)? If not, it didn't get raised. This can happen if there is some missing or invalid information in your profile or the Care form. It is easy to miss the error messages.


       


      If there is no Care ticket, I suggest that you try again but take screenshots of the completed Care form before you submit it. If it fails again, let us know and we can tell you how to send the screenshots to get some help. Do not attach the screenshots to your post as they will contain personal information!


       


      If there is a Care ticket listed, let us know the number and we can get someone to follow it up.

      @RexBeckett At any rate, yes, my ticket does show up in the Care Portal, Ticket Number: CAS-94023-Q9L6G6, last modiefied two days ago (referring to my initial posting of the ticket), marked "in progress."  Anything you can do to get it noticed by "The Powers That Be" would be much appreciated.


      See, the thing is, I remember only a few years back being able to call Behringer for pre-sales support, and easily getting a clear, concise and helpful answer to my question.  As tech consultant for the music department of a fairly large university, this is something I've done regularly with inMusic Brands, one of MusicTribe's most significant competitors, and I've never had any problem.  Having to jump through all of these hoops of creating an account, posting a ticket, waiting days for a response, and posting to a community board to try to force the issue is really disturbing.  Almost as disturbing as the suggestion that I might have to repost the request, take screenshots of the post, and send them to someone in the community so they can tell me how to get help with my request for help.  I'm sure you can recognize my frustration, as my question is something that should be clearly answered in the owner's manual for the device -- if there were an owner's manual for the device, which there isn't!

      I have asked if someone can take a look at your Care ticket. As it is the weekend, there may be no response until next week but keep a watch on your emails (including the spam folder) and PMs.


       


      The vast majority of Care tickets get raised, acknowledged and answered without the need for intervention by members of the community. My suggestions were for how we could help if the system was not working correctly. If your Care case is marked as In Progress, the system seems to be working.
