    Hi all,

Can the engineers please have a look at the firmware 2.2 on the IQ's.

    2 things to check:

1 - The input/output level meters on the LCD (and on the Turbosound EDIT software) indicates that the "IN" stage (pre DSP) CLIPS before the "OUT" (pre amp) stage.

Here I have a thread about it: https://community.musictribe.com/t5/Loudspeakers/Turbosound-IQ-Series-Input-vs-output-levels-FW-2-2-and-limiter/td-p/277885

2 -  The FBQ Feature does not operate correctly. The LEARN feature produces no "click" as the HW:A units do.

Here is a thread about this issue: https://community.musictribe.com/t5/Loudspeakers/Turbosound-IQ-Series-FBQ-Questions-Release-time-Auto-vs-Single/td-p/277951

Hello Callan, welcome to the community.

I suggest that you raise a Care ticket for Service Repair explaining your problem. This is done by clicking on Support at the top of the page and then clicking the Create a Care Ticket button. This is only possible if you have completed all the required fields in your profile. Make sure that you fill-in every required field on the Care form.

    Hello everyone,

Would the signal output from a channel's balanced input using a TRS jack on that input be true stereo? I've been running the stereo left/right outputs from my guitar effects unit through the PPA200's stereo channel which has left/right inputs and it sounds beautiful. The thing is I'd like to use that channel for something else, hence my question.

    Thank you for your time.

No, balanced TRS input is not a stereo input. It uses the same 1/4" jack. But the pinouts are different. A balanced TRS has pin 1 = shield, pin 2 = hot+, pin 3 = hot- (180 degrees out of phase).

Hello all. I recently purchased the Studio 50USB studio monitors from a seller on Reverb. The package is an unopened package and the speakers were brand new warranty replacements. Initially, when I turned the speakers on, there was a repetetive clicking and the speaker turned on and off with the clicking every second or so. With some work with the power cable, I was able to get the speakers to stay on, however, now there is no sound coming from them at all. I was using the quarter inch input ports as well as the usb ports directly from my computer. Anybody have an idea of what the problem could be?

TL;DR - Speakers are new but no sound comes out when powered on.

    Hello everyone,

As there isn't an on/off switch for phantom power on the PPA200, not that I can see anyway, how does the unit know if a dynamic or a condenser microphone is being used?

There's no magic at work. Phantom power will always be connected to the XLR inputs. This should not harm dynamic mics as long as they are wired correctly with balanced XLR cables.

Thanks Rex - I was kind of hoping for magic but there you go.

You say "should not harm dynamic mics", I'd really rather it was "most definately will not harm". I have an expensive Sennheiser dynamic vocal microphone which I wouldn't want to be fed with phantom power in any circumstance.

Just out of curiosity, and if you know, why was no phantom power on/off switch part of the design of this unit? All my various other units with a phantom power option have an on/off switch or button - in fact the PPA200 is the only unit I've ever seen that doesn't have one.

All my XLR cables are balanced.

I would be happy to connect my Sennheiser, AKG and Rode dynamic mics to inputs with phantom. I would be less confident of unknown brands. If you are really concerned, you could get a phantom blocker .

I don't know why the usual phantom on/off switch was not provided on the PPA200. We might guess that it was a design-to-cost decision.

Blimey! A Phantom Blocker - I'd never have guessed such a device existed.

Thank you Rex, you've been very helpful yet again.

Anyone else have a similar experience? One of my ip2000s started making some extremely audible cracking sounds in the high and mid-high sections. Removing all inputs, turning down the master volume and input gains had no effect.

I applied a sharp percussive maintenance to the back panel and the behavior stopped and did not return for the rest of the night. Physical inspection of the amp section did not show anything out of sort, but I did reseat the input to power amp ribbon cable for good measure.

I'll update here if it happens again.

    Thanks!

    Jeff

    Hello to all,

I've just bought the PPA200 and want to add a monitor speaker to my set-up.

There is no dedicated output to add a monitor speaker, so I was wondering if a passive or active monitor might run from the headphone output. Would that work?

    Thanks.

Hello Viv, welcome to the community.

You should be able to run an active monitor from the PPA200 phones output. Some active monitors have 3.5mm stereo Aux inputs so you could connect with a cable like this one.

      Hello Rex,

Thank you for your swift answer. I thought that might work.

I've looked at a few active monitors and I'm limited on the amount of power consumption for busking.

I'm running all my gear from a lithium battery and only a 300watt inverter so a passive monitor would be the ideal solution to keep the power load down. There is a mono direct output and left/right RCA outputs on the PPA200 - would a passive monitor work from either of these do you think?

I've spent a small fortune (to me) on all the gear I already have otherwise I'd just go with an active monitor and buy a higher wattage output inverter and use the headphones output.

Again, thank you for your reply.

I'm afraid that a passive monitor will not work from any of those outputs. You could always go for a monitor with its own built-in battery. Something like Samson Expedition Express?

      Just as an update:

I have a Roland Cube Street I originally intended to use on it's own for busking, but it's sound quality and flexibility leaves a little to be desired in my opinion, which is why I decided on a pa system. The Cube as most probably know can be battery powered so I'll use it as a monitor.

In case anyone is interested I power my busking set-up with the following:

This most probably isn't the place to include a list of the gear I intend using for busking but if anyone is interested I will do so in an appropriate place.

Hi guys I'm looking for processor settings for turbosound tq315.

If it helps I'll be running them passively using a turbosound lms d24 processor.

Customer support is unresponsive and I have questions. I am trying to replace power supplies for my QFLex16 m-1 and sb pairs. When we removed these from one of our spaces the power supplies were left behind. I have reached out to spare parts tickets, the customer service portal and anywhere I can try to get ahold of people but have had no luck. trying here...

Hello Vincent, welcome to the community.

The Care ticket is currently the only way to request technical support, service and spare parts from any of the Music Tribe companies. Did you get Care tickets raised? You should be able to see them through the Care Portal. Some people have missed responses because the emails were routed into their spam folders.

If you tell us the Care ticket numbers, we can get someone to check into them for you.
